here it is on the piece of cotton something that i have had waiting on the shelf.  this cotton something is like a blanket kindof…very great, almost flannely, but not…it can be the backing? and somehow the central piece can be amidst other woven strips?????  the central piece is 38"X38".

That’s going to be a nice size cuddle-r. That cotton does look nice and soft and almost flannel-like. It’ll be fun watching this develop!

while watching you will offer them~this will be my first
attempt at a “covering cloth”, a coverlet…is daunting.
any suggestions will be welcome. i looked at your
website and was in such an excitable state i might have
missed more, but am very interested in your dyed pieces?

You could stay with the central motif as you have it and perhaps incorporate what you’ll learn, in the area around it. Sort of like all of Jude’s large cloths, i.e. pieces of cloth weaving, some reverse applique, some mended pieces, etc.It will all come to you when Jude starts whispeering and what iffing. What a nice gift in the making!
