i thought it might be important for some reason to document what's at the bottom of the pots when all is said and done.

002
the caste iron pot.  things tend to kind of rot in this pot….become gooey.  but i wish you could see the almost crystalized almost metalic glint.  so curious of what that is………….

004
the most beautiful, this is the copper pot.  they are so dry, like parchment, really, but retain their shape and also this beautiful intertwined circle

003
the aluminum pot.  i like this shape.  kind of a bird

wonder what would happen if you made a bundle of each of those after soaking them a bit.

they are so crisp. thinner than paper. almost not even
form still. it was amazing to me that i could pick them up and hold them like this.
i got my copper pot down at a very wonderful little place
down the road. it at one point was someone’s dream of
an antique shop. it is STUFFED with things. all manner of things. there was a medimum sized pot at that time.
maybe 20 or 30 dollars? might even have been less…i
don’t remember. i was just so ecstatic to get this larger
one there. couldn’t believe my luck.
do you want me to check it out? it’s like sauce pan size.

thanks grace but i’m sure i’ll find one here eventually. i’ve been lazy to do the dyeing lately. into too many other things. i still have a lot of those eucalyptus leaves you sent me. and i’ve got my sister freezing all of her spent flowers. i’m anxious to try those.

You know after reading this I realized that my I had completely forgotten that my brother in law is in the wholesale flower business!!! Sheesh .. what I might be able to get from him… i’m a definitely going to have to make a trip home. I wonder if my sister would freeze rose petals? haha .. she’ll think I’m crazy… lol
Grace thank you for the lovely words you wrote on my blog .. that was very nice .. and I wrote you a reply but blogger doesn’t seem to have a way to let people know that you’ve replied so just so you know .. I’m in South Carolina .. I don’t have an accent because I was born in Florida and traveled alot .. but i can have one any time i want .. haha. I live in a remote area and it’s quiet and peaceful for sure .. and on my reply to you I also said that I really took the yard photos for you .. I seemed to think you mentioned it recently that you liked seeing more of the surroundings .. and if you check my profile I can’t remember how you do it but if you were to go to my picassa photos that are linked to my blog it has all of my photos that are on my whole blog .. there are some of the winter that show more I think of where I live….I love those. Anyway .. thanks again for stopping over. 🙂

oooooooh! very cool. what if you wrapped cloth around them, hosed them down & buried them in the yard for a month? i see your bird, but at first i just saw one big wing with leaf feathers.

The mottling in the top one is amazing, that the leaves remain or have become different colours. These remind me of fossils. I always wonder what part a leaf (or berry or bark) ‘leaves’ when I use it for dyeing, and what is left behind. If you know what I mean…

    i do, Wendy, i do
    know what you mean
and i’ve never “worded it” …. as you just have.
what a beautiful thought. and…at least in the moment,
it is an overcast morning. a rarety here, so everything
somehow feels more uhhhh, intimate out there. i just
took out the overfull compost from the kitchen counter
and noticed this. the birds are staying low and the
    doves congregating. everything feels
    close.
so it’s a good day to entertain that thought. thank you.
