does anyone know….this pattern of feather on any bird other than Flicker?

is this….a Flicker feather?…..

From my life in the midwest through my early 30's,  on to   Oregon,  Arizona and then New Mexico,    this feather would be  FLICKER

lying,  in so Plain Sight on the road down this morning,   i stood,  staring at it on my footpath   Placed there.   Placed there.

i carried it down,  through the Gate and off,  into the world.   I drive down the winding road into town,  through town where life continues it seems as usual but i only drive through it,  do not stop or hesitate,  but make my way directly to Alyssia's house where Tay and i get out and spend the day while Alyssia moves through the interface for food.

Flicker has been a spirit bird.   Crow is Cosmic.  Flicker is personal.

Do any of you know of this feather pattern?   This is important.

Looks like from a Downy Woodpecker or its larger cousin a Hairy Woodpecker which we see here in Michigan. Nice find.

What a beautiful photograph, splendid trail-marker! I get goosebumps seeing this tableau. I believe this is a woodpecker feather. Here in NW Washington, I have the beautiful Downy Woodpecker Downy Woodpecker
(Dryobates pubescens), whose feathers are very much as the one you’ve pictured, with an astonishingly beautiful red marking on the back of it’s head. https://passthefeather.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/woodpecker-1024×685.jpg.

okay I’m gonna address Flicker specifically even though i basically agree with the potential species you’ve already received. Just in case. Just beak-caws – with Crow medicine in the mix so strongly I’m looking for sleights of hand. Visual trickery. So I go where you went for a couple beats.
If it happens to have a yellow streak (which would mean it got to you all the way from the eastern half of the country) then we might have to talk further by telephone.
—these things are unlikely to be necessary— i’m just sayin’ if they are because
There are certain seconday flicker wing feathers that can look something like what you’re showing but they are nearly always black spotted rather than white. I have seen some that looked like this – attached to a dead bird who was obviously Flicker in nature so these tropes can occur.

sightings of a woodpecker of any kind – as well as their left-behind feathers – often herald new vibrations/rhythms pouring into a person’s life. The results can feel HUGE – like massive drum orchestras pounding away day and night (sound familiar???) This class of bird offers insights and intuitions regarding how the shifts might be best assimilated and acted upon.
(funny this morning when i was pulling out mother stocks to start preparing bottles for shipping i was really strongly moved to prepare a Daisy bottle for you which we’ve never discussed. But thought it relevant to mention as Daisy medicine possesses the illumination/healing signature of helping us filter, assimilate and digest incoming information of an overwhelming and confusing nature. After seeing this and having you ask if it might be from a flicker (conclusively – you might want to check the shaft of the feather. If it has a rose-red/deep pink shaft it is indeed a flicker. After which we shall have to talk further. If it’s yellow shafted whoa that means it’s way where it isn’t from and that might need to be a different convo. Not likely though. The ideas are solid and far more likely choices given the appearance of the feather.
Something i always think of with woodpeckers relates to the cartilage shock absorbers they have between their skull and beak. So when i find a woodpecker feather i consider i might be getting a reminder to have/maintain such absorbers within myself. especially with the media and folks who enjoy arguing or have simply become addicted to the adrenaline spikes of being on edge all the time.
Think personally that it woodpecker is a good ally for hyper-sensitives who can be bombarded by ALL the vibrations until they figure out how to do some automatic filtering which in turn helps learn how to identify what’s necessary even though it’s hard. What of past ingrained patterns need to be discarded even if they helped create a sense of how ‘ease’ is defined and how highly it factors into an individual’s hierarchy of needs scale.
Learning how to drill down and extract the nourishment to be found.
    all seems to fit, yeah?

Exactly so! what a marvelous description ~ thank you so much! This articulates what I obliquely described Grace’s “found feather”, as a “trail marker”. Blessings to you.

The downy or hairy woodpeckers are what leave this type of feather on our deck periodically. Fun find!
