these  "holidays"       that i have so many  Opinions about….but they still keep on coming,  year after year and here we were,  another   "mother's day"         and the three of us spent last eve pouring over the viet namese food menue which is huge,  so many possibilities and finally came up with an order   and then when Jenny went to the place,  there was a Closed sign.   She sat out front and called and called and finally got a pick up and she said….will you be opening soon?  and the response was…. Did you read the sign?   We're closed.      so    oh   eee    so we ended up with  Philly cheesesteak sandwich and Greens…..   was good and it was 85    We went over  to the creek.    First time this year.   Jenny brought the floaties.      I was a Glorious day….Minnow had never seen water like this before but   LEAPT     and   SWAM   and Julian….Julian…in his UnFolding Self   got In and it was FINE and FINE and FINE.   and more Fine…..so…..              we did it.

This is wonderful! I’m smiling so big! I love Emrie’s hand out, like move back a bit! Her focus so intent! And Julian, so grown – looking like a young man these days. The place we went last night (to try and see the lights) is where I took Julian’s Day/Night cloth before sending it to you…way back then…riding Jimi’s Harley there 🙂
Now here, this creek…another holiday, time marching on.

tubing is something I’ve never done, but it’s definitely a thing down here on the central Texas rivers … was the water cold in your creek?
I made dessert for Mother’s Day dinner at my daughter’s house … because I love to bake and it made me feel less like the center of attention

A good mellow way for all of you to spend the day; an ordinary day, a special day but to me, I have always not liked these designated days of Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Grandparent’s day because every day holds that meaning.
I do love, however, the phone calls and the ritual my girls and I have every year of finding old family photos, superimposing text and sending them in emails as our special cards.

the creek is very cold. always. and a strong current…it flows, pushing. there is not at all far to float…a fence across, but we just begin again.

i learn to accept repetition. the reassurance of repeating, year unto year…..
so it’s ok. Mother’s Day is ok.

that first image brought such a huge smile – ear to ear –
the entire post speaks of ‘being there where you are with who you are with’
that is a privilege to witness
