several months ago there were pictures in the nytimes about these spiders and some cloth woven from their silk…golden of course… i will look and see if i can hunt it up… but here you have your lessons for making a web all before your eyes! good for you… such a good student, you are!

I saw this exhibit in thr American Museum of Natural History, NYC. In fact the museum charges no admission for the last 15-30 minutes of the day and that’s plenty time to run downstairs and see the golden shawl!

I wish they had put one of those giant spiders on top of the cloth. That would have been interesting, but I’m guess that with those long legs the move really fast.LikeLike
