the strip on the far side will be finished tonight or tomorrow. the strands of
silk gauze wind will be returned to where they were before i decided to do this
kantha stitching. that will not take long.

this feels so good for so many reasons but i will write about that
when it is finally finished.

oh! it is so lovely…. what an accomplishment. i just want to run my hands over it… the hand stitching is really taking over my spirit… i want to do more and more…little bits at a time. i cant wait to do the fibonacci spiral but it cant be done until other components are finished. i love stitching with a small needle but its so hard to thread. rosalie taught us a way thats like pinching a flea…there is an expression in zulu for it that i could not remember… im running at the mouth here….really the kantha is stunning! love to you.

Hi Grace- yes the kantha stitching is so textural and delicious. What window is this for? It would be so reassuring to wake up to this stitching in the mornings. What is the picture in the middle? Gilly

Really like the bottom border of kantha stitching on this panel. Weights the cloth yet at the same time, gives movement and an elegance in its simplicity. Lets cloth stand strong without need of much else.

As this window hanger touches the lives of the children, and is in turn touched and loved by them, so too have you touched us all by your telling of the making of this cloth grace. Thank you for sharing the gentle power of your cloth.

Love your window hanger and the story behind it. I also like your wonderful op shop find. Have you read the delightful story on Janet Clares blog about the photo she found? http://www.janetclare.co.uk/blog
