i dont think you even have to bind them. i am trying something now. just knotting tiny silk strips into the cloth, knotted at both ends. i havent had time to get away form the workshop to gather my thoughts yet.

Okay, Grace, this is just a fantastic idea; it is like a net to catch snips of this and bits of that down to a fabric to create a new layer of fabric on a fabric. It is like couching a thread or a fiber, but more sculptural… wonderful possibilities…

a cloth mandolin perhaps?and that iron onion dye colour is very moody, i dont dislike it at all, it makes a good moody background. interesting about the echinacea colour. cheers, k.

hi grace 🙂 oh this is so beautiful! it does look like an ancient musical instrument… always thought looms looked like instruments too. i think its where the top string bows…
