How interesting to me to read the thought processes here because it never occurs to me that working with cloth requires such questioning; I always assumed it was about the feel and the feeling; that the cloth spoke and took its own time in collaborating with the person who held it and the needle and thread. For me, with the little sewing that I have done, it is like entering a covenant with my dyed pieces; looking and listening and looking until my hands reach for the needle and thread; a covenant between what I see and what the cloth shows me. Time is not present…I guess I would say to you grace, trust in what is unfolding; you have a kinship with the cloth pieces that you have made that is like no other…
