this is the second in one day!  not basted down, wanted to take pic before available light left over the rim of the mountain.  this one, there were i think two mistakes.  because there were three colors of strips, i got confused as to where the middle was…actually, didn't even think about it until i had already turned it.  the second mistake was not going backward in numbers of the vertical… so maybe this one should be called OverConfident?

but…oh my.  just look.  who knows what might come of all this possibility…~

Cool Grace- you’re really showcasing or featuring particular areas of your cloth here; I like the potential for asymetry with this method. Wish me LUCK, I’m off to start one….

the colors in this one are beautiful. nobody knows it’s a mistake unless you tell them. the pattern does not have to be symmetrical or regular. i love patterns with surprises.

Hi Grace: I love your name : ) your pieces are beautiful : ) did you dye the cloth for the second pic ?? love them both very much : ) my body lives in AZ but my HEART lives in New Mex – will you be attending the Fiesta Fiber Art Fair in May ?? I’m hoping to talk my dh in taking me this year, we haven’t been for a few years, I’m thinking “it’s time” ha : ) we travel most every year back to the place we were married in Taos, the SanGeronimoLodge – love it, in Sept sooo maybe we’ll do the May and then the Sept ?? who knows : ) I’ve completed my first woven cloth background piece using my own eco dyed fabrics from last summer, turned out sweet, that is why I asked if you used some or all of yours : ) Thank you for sharing : )
    Blessings, Sandra in AZ

Reminds me of purple sunsets. Where did you get this lucious fabric? Cotton? Silk? Anyway, I see no mistakes and it gave me more confidence to just make “abstract”, “chaos”, cause this is great as is. As I used to tell my employees, enthusiasm is very contagious! And man you are really pumped and it’s great motivation. Glad you’re invoved in this ride.

hi sandra…i don’t know. i pretty much stick close to
home….no…the ones in the pale one are my own dye
but this second dark one, not. the lighter strips are
just the backside of the darker??? i have no idea where
    this cloth came from…

    it’s cotton. “pumped”…well, don’t know about that…
i just really feel the need to do as much as i can during
the class, as it is going along…once it’s over, i am
more or less on my own. it’s great to have the input
of so many and also the gift of the work of so many…

I used the term “pumped” as excited, enthused. By doing as much as you can in class, you have to be on track, motivated, in the zone, enthused, etc. To learn from everyone as well as jude you have to have your heart and soul in alignment for the task, that’s what I was inferring. Not sue how you took my statement, but this was what I was getting at.
