this is how a window familiar to you by this time looks this evening. the Sun finally shown down for the last moments of this day causing this blanket squashed on the curtain rod to transform a difficult day with its beauty. it's 6 degrees at 5pm

Oh goodness, do keep warm, that sounds challenging with what your home sounds like it has for wrapping! I imagine you snuggled with 3 dogs on the futon. It must be a 3 dog night!

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! just one wall of the house. oh, and still
the hot water pipes. there was about a 1/4 ” of ice in
the bathtub from letting the water run (to keep at least
the cold pipes open)….
but WE DIDN’T FREEZE! down to 8 below here, 13 below
at daughters which is an hour north. i dreaded the phone
call this morning…BUT, THE GOATS DIDN’T FREEZE, KADIR
THE GREAT AND EXCELLENT GUARDIAN LIVESTOCK DOG DIDN’T
FREEZE AND THE CHICKENS EVEN DIDN’T FREEZE!!!!!!!!!
and when i got up at 2am to get the woodstove going it
occured to me that i could bring in the heavy duty extension cord from outside (under the snow somewhere) and run that directly from the outlet on the electrical post outside…hook it to the multioutlet surge thingy and
FINISH WATCHING THE LATEST AND MOST MAGNIFICANT AND TOTALLY THRILLING VIDEO that i had just begun when everything fell apart last eve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ok..gotta bring in wood, but more later. Much Much Much
more later…..this is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO exciting, this
tapestry weave……….. ~~~~~~~
oh…and reminding self it’s not all about me…i am
assuming your roof remains where it should be?????????

Yes, we are soooo very blessed & glad that the storm did pass over AZ but it has caused very, very low temps everywhere. we woke up to 9 degrees up here and down in the valley (Phoenix) lots of fountains froze, weird to see the water still spilling out the bottom but the tops are frozen making them look like an ice sculpture. amazing how your daughter’s livestock did not freeze, is she/they closer to SantaFe ?? down comforters are the only type of blankets that reallly help, we’re sleeping under one and a quilt I made. hope you have lots of warm liquids like soup, tea/coffee, chocolate ??
Blessings with continued prayers, Sandra in AZ

it shone today with not so much effect…but good that it
shone. very good.
the thing i liked was the sound of the snow underfoot…
that scrunching crisp sound…back and forth, back and
forth to the wood pile.
tonight will be better. the forcast keeps shifting, but
by the weekend things should start to normal up. Still
no hot water. no chance of it till maybe tomorrow, but
probably Sat at earliest. like gets pretty basic.

Mo’a…there ARE all 4 seasons here but usually if it
does snow (and as often as not, it doesn’t exactly where
i am) it melts by noon or so. just up a half hour away
in the Magdalena mountains it snows. so if you need some,
it’s easy. i never need snow. am a lizard.
anyway…this weather is not “normal”.
thanks for info re your blog…am going there right Now!
