the top pic is what the stained hand sewn household cloth looked like before it became the warp.  it was sewn together…three pieces were one.

next, closeup of the hand stitching

next, an example of one of the stains

then, how it's being woven.  the weft is muslin

and last, how it will be when that central piece is stitched in place.

i am amazed that you are able to accomplish this. do you stand on a ladder to do the weaving? will you baste it while it’s still hanging?
    unbelievable.

i think weaving on a window frame might be cool too. i have done it on a wall.

yup…got it. i will maybe weave in some very thin
strips of color…????? for sure some mosaic pieces.
but i really can’t visualize it before i get the woven
pieces in place. then i can stitch on that piece with
whatever the lace is and see what it feels like. WoW,
    a big event here…………………….

well…what i am learning will gird my loins for anything.
    it is BIG.
the weaving was good. it’s the invisible basting that
is difficult. it’s almost 2 feet above my head. very
    awkward.
but i am basting through the center of each weft strip.
when i get it all in place (bottom tomorrow) and basted
in this way, i will take it off the doorway beam and
use the door that is a work table right now. in the
morning will take everything off it. pull it away from
the wall. what would work better is actually another
door that i could put on top of the table….table is
round and too small, need a long surface. hmmmm. i gave
neighbors some doors that i’d drug home…maybe they still
    have one unused?
    well…where there’s a will there’s a way, They say.

wow,Grace….this is the perfect approach! Good deal of work but it will pay off. Your daughter will be quite amazed, I’m sure.
Your process reminds me of “scenery: for a play” ….stretching…reaching…eliminating…adding…maybe a metaphor for your big life changes. Every Life is a play.

this makes me think of deanna’s thought too, about story.
i am thinking very much about this. because it really
    IS…
when i think back, about my life, times before now, it
is in terms of story. the story of “that” time….
and the other players then would also have their story.
