i am leaving the screen door open now.  late, until i go to sleep.

praying mantis will come in.  some would say attracted to the light.  but i don't think so.  they want to look around.  see what's going on.  they always come in and stay on the curtain by the door awhile.  then, after checking things out, flutter to somewhere near where i am.  there they stay, walking around, just looking.

the big ones i just leave to their own devices. they can come
and go. a year ago a really young one kept coming in. i would
put her back out. repeat. repeat.
i would walk her out to the locust tree, to the fence. then
there on the porch railing, peaking around something…
i think i have a pic of her. i’ll go look.

We have a few here every year, but i was told it’s because of our natural organic clean enviroment. That is why they are becoming extinct, because of all the chemicals used at various places. At least that is the case here in Michigan, so treasure your praying mantis.

egg cases everywhere. and that cousin of theirs, the
    Walking Stick…
to me, they Bless the land.
