every scrap of cloth in this piece is so free and yet in the right place. the stitching will make it all permanent. i love it.

and the little blue square??? i love it just from an aesthetic standpoint. but does it signify something? from a distance i always saw that rust triangle that it is on as a roof to a house…maybe this is a window? or maybe its all my way of visioning a place for your daughter on the right land…

they are somehow THE most joyful gesture, newborn goats.
within hours, they are up and exploring their world. by
the first day, they are flinging themselves about, like
    this goat above…
they also are totally and completely vulnerable in their
    joy….it’s quite a paradox

the blue square is the blue house that may happen or may
not. the rust triangle is the mountains there
    we go from
    mountains to mountains
there tho, in the not so far distance is Mt.Shasta.
i went there once for an Earth Blessing. this is a long
time ago. along the path Up people lined the way and
from the bottom came all the Buddhist monks with their
long long horns, their bells, their chanting.
so much has changed inside me since then.

i just realized that i forgot the tail.
goats indicate/signify so many things with their tails

been gone to my daughters and just catching up. I love the cloth and think you will have to start calling it a quilt. It is so fabulous. I love all those stitches. It must feel so wonderful to hold. I can’t imagine doing a big thing.. while I was at my daughters she finished her first quilt. We were so thrilled.. a tradition in our family that I skipped. So I hope the land is ready for the goats and all coming together. Congratulations on all things..
