this cloth is JUDE HILL upon a piece of really amazing silk i found at the thrift shop last week.  which is so perfect for it.                  for some reason,  this is very important today.  so here it is, so we can look at it.   i want it to be the first thing i see when i get back home.

it is. it is nice silk. it’s amazing silk.
it’s silk i don’t know how to describe or the name of.
there is a stamp mark, like the piece i sent to Manya.
it’s heavy, kinda stiff, even after i washed it and hung
it on the little Cloth line. and it has that single blue
line. it is twice as long as you see here.
i think the thrift shop gets these things now and then
because there are students at the local Tech College
    from all sorts of countries.
this dragon of yours has been on my meditation wall with
the Dalai Lama for quite a while, next to the Morning
chair. it is so at home on this silk. with the
tree branch at the top. it’s kinda like a very small
personal Coma for me. ……… what does THAT mean?
    don’t know.

What a beautiful cloth to come home to…and I just love that little blue bird fabric of Jude’s. I bet you were thinking about coming home to that cloth all day.
I love your cloth in the post below too. Such rich, musty, earthy colours.
Enjoyed reading your thoughts about your Magic Diaries cloth too.

    Hi Grace,
what a nice way to say “hello” after a strenuous day at work!
I bought one of the small feather pieces from Jude. It’s in a beautiful frame now – when I wanted to pick it up they asked: “Can you leave it with us for another week, please? It is a picture everyone loves to look at… and then SMILE!”
    Isn’t that nice?
So I left it in the gallery among other great pieces of art for one more week.
    Have a great day,
    eva

I don’t even know what this truly means, except that I felt a closeness and a friendship and it made my eyes well up. Yes – wrap yourselves in cloth and friendship and love. I’m such a sap! 🙂

Grace, your piece of silk appears to be identical to one that I have, except your fringes are more worn away. If it is the same, it is part of a Jewish prayer cloth, the sort of shawls that Orthodox men wear around their shoulders when they pray or even under their clothes. Mine has a wonderful heavy feel. I inherited mine in a stash of scrap fabric from a great gran and I don’t even know how it came to be there or why it was cut and not a complete shawl.
