i always seem to get to that moment.  when the beginning is complete and there is this…..still point.  what if nothing comes next?  what if i will never have an idea of what i'm supposed to do next?????  well, this time it didn't take long.  in the comment response to nance's question, that vision of the sunflower showed up and here is the beginning.

usually when nothing comes next, you are done. hardly ever happens…but there are spaces.

    What Jude said….
and, at least the balance is being struck somewhere… dry there, soaked here. Not helping me to meet life with the exuberance I usually feel this time of year, so, waiting for that, maybe its the “moment before relief” … I hope so!

…and there is suddenly sunshine…a moody cloudy day with more rain in the forecast…but a pause…before beginning again. The rhythm dictates itself and I follow. When I’m stuck, I sleep.

Michelle, then, you really are back home, i’m thinking.
good. i always like it when things/people are
    “in place”.
i can’t sleep. so much to do outside.
yesterday i chainsawed the fallen over part of a tree
that barred the way to the compost. now need to drag
    it somewhere and like jude,
    the wood.
    oh the wood.
    no rest for the wicked

Grace! First: KITES! YES! (sorry to yell), but I know just how I can do them (again, the magic that is woven patchwork). And the sunflower- how perfect; sunflowers are the seasonal flower, some just coming into flower here that will last until October, through frost, often through the snow if the first is early. So finding a sunflower in September seems perfect for me. Also, that grey patch on the patchwork nine-patch? It looks like it reveals the base cloth; I love that, just love it.
    Off to think about kites.

well, i wish i could hire someone to come and document
    all this.
but the chainsaw…it’s kinda girly, really. an electric
one. i inquired fully and the hardware guy said yes, it’s
harder to pull start the comparable gas saw. harder than
my week whacking thingy…so i was humiliated, but bought
the electric one. is pretty good tho. takes down 12″ things with no effort………
back in the day with the Maniac i was married to, we used
to go far into the mountains and cut, load and haul down
wood. that was “real”. not girly.
