Oooh Grace, more creatures from shreds traveling through in their quiet way connecting things! How clever you are with these details.

They remind me of feathers! Glorious black & white feathers floating freely. xoxo

yes–perhaps grace is feathering.

I love these and that you found the first as a shred on the floor. They remind me of something I love – plants in my garden that suddenly sprout up in unexpected places. Volunteers they’re called. Or like the grass seeds that you talked about, blowing in and sprouting.

nance…it’s really true. they are really small bits
but everything is different because of them. i am
not intending to make anything of them, just stitch
them in as they are…it’s their amorphousness that
speaks…and their black and whiteness…

Looking at the whole of them, the grouping…they do a mighty fine job of circling. For such tiny ones, they add something huge.

I am back again after you are all asleep-so, if you return in the morning-feathering is when some bird feathers a nest in preparation to receive her eggs–so what would that look like? Well, it would look like whatever you see, or whatever you find on the floor, or in a basket. of course, feathering a quilt would mean stuffing down into the lining–but that’s not nearly so evocative as feathering a nest. of course, if they are circling, well–what are they circling? perhaps just riding on the wind, or perhaps circling the ground for a place to find shelter. Enough of my imagination–on to Your imagination.

Thank you for your kind words. We are all fine after yet another set of earthquakes. Very frazzled nerves especially when we thought we were over them all. Hope you and your companions are managing to keep warm. Thank you for asking about the potato comp. We will leave it open for another week or so since we have had two weeks of cold wet weather. Best Wishes to you Grace.xx Jacqui
