so..this is where it all has gotten to so far.  i have spent a lot of time just looking yesterday and today.  what more needs to be here and why?  what would be "missing"?  not in terms of in a "decorative" way, but rather symbolically, to speak of this point in time.  where everything has "gotten to",  this far.  so, i know there will be the rest of the grasses.  3 kinds and i think i have decided the little lizards will be among those grasses, as they are in "real life" here.  and everywhere i have ever been.

i think the only other "absolute" would be the butterflies.  there is the one that is on Her head:

005

but then, there would be the images that represent what butterflies symbolize for me.  i am working on how to put that into words.  not there yet.  working on it.  so today i stitched more butterflies

007

but then, by accident, noticed the BACK of the butterfly of the other day

005
and almost like that better……..?  and then,  got a call from Alz B about a "situation" at her house, so went over there.  and during the exchange, she was interested in the design on my Tshirt, which i'd recently gotten from the Thrift Shop.  so when we were looking at it,  i SAW it.  a kind of Escher~esque thing….that made me think of………butterflies.  so, now, i'm thinking, maybe for these "ghost" butterflies, "spirit" butterflies,  maybe i really might want to try something entirely different?

interesting that Alz B, who has lost enough wits to need help, pointed you in a direction you didn’t realize was there. I love the overall view. It makes me think of Egyptian walls all full of mysteries that, gathered up, tell a story.

I like the whole of it too. And the new butterflies (photo 3) look very much butterfly, but still light and less obvious. I think the antenna helped.
Deb makes an interesting point…some things are a surprise, aren’t they?!
Just was talking to my sister yesterday about Escher. Mmmm…

Love the “reverse” butterfly – beautiful drawn-looking lines and kind of angel-like as well.

wonderful journey you’re on–fleeting butterflies are lovely, and I’m starting to see them everywhere now, too…

—and, perhaps a swarm of butterflies will weave in and out amongst those beautifully developing grasses. I like this cloth very much indeed, and the antennae do make such a difference. They are such short lived creatures, so ephemeral, and living passionately in their brief span dedicated to reproducing themselves into the next generation.

I think of one thing that brings you joy, is a gift when it comes forth because over the years that I have known you, you sing the spadefoot toad song when they appear. Maybe, a little one, tucked in a darker corner, just coming out from burrowing in the land because the rains have come…

Grace, I have been very quiet in that I have not commented much, if at all, for ages on your posts – however, I have been visiting very regularly and I am in utter wonder watching this cloth grow – it is like being there from the beginning of the creation of a whole new land, a new world – it is just beautiful and, for me, uplifting for my spirit.
    I thank you.

ghost butterflies .. as ideas in your head – feelings in your soul that want to come out .. that is an impressive picture because it is so light and airy and vivid- How would it look like in stiches?

ah butterflies when you try to photograph them they are very elusive and drawing them can sometimes make them look quite static to get the feel of your butterfly essence perhaps 100 5- 10 second sketches in a row will help to loosen the line?

Jill…i can’t tell you how good it was for me to read
your words today. i know you must have reason for being
quiet, but they meant a lot. they connected all day to
the post of the other day about meaning and purpose. and
as i worked (away from home) i thought about “kinds” of
meaning. i am still thinking and you uplift my spirit by stopping in. i thank YOU.

treena…the woman…well, sort of. she is the feminine
figure that has been recurrent in a lot of different
things i’ve done. i like her because she is simple. is
an equal part of her environment/eco system. she will
probably continue to appear pretty much as is.
THANK YOU for liking her. she’s a little odd.

Ah, that feels so right to see the toad eggs on the cloth. Had you mentioned them before? If so, I didn’t catch it.

i did, but a long time ago…way way in the very beginning.
they are there, and there needs to be some kind of
stitching of “vibes” before all is said and done

i like your search for symbol- i do that.
the butterfly on her head, and her head, is perfect.
the next photo- no snow angels there- just fluttering butterflies.
you are creating so much of creation.
