ok, and so…………..What If i………………..

ok.  What if i just go.  what if i just follow that urge to strengthen the placket…oh…i don't like that word for some reason.  what if i just strengthen the button thingys on either side.  weight them.

yes.  weight them.  they are really "strong" enough.  as is.  but they are not "weighted".  whatever that means.

i had to work today..away…and before i left i did this pinning………

i could barely wait till i got back home to look at it.  but then, could JUST look, as the refrigerater is almost totally dead and a new one (or, new to me) is going to be delivered tomorrow and i needed to Do Things to make that possible……and then the goats were yelling…HEY, OLD NANA, HEY, you in the denim jumper………!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  so i did goat stuff until they were satisfied.

but then…back to this.  WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?, i am wondering??????????????????

    button band/buttonhole band- is what i’ve always called them.
    this photo- it feels full of sw sunsets…not that i’ve ever seen one, but what i dream they must be like.
    full and rich with substance.

    In your previous post, good discussion as to the meaning of clothes during various stages of our lives. Clothing for attraction, for adornment, for comfort, telling who we are at a given moment. When I saw these cloth strips going down the placket of your goat shirt, the first word that came to mind was talisman. Each color of these placket strips echo sun, land, vegetation, even with that bit of purple, the stormy skies that come with the monsoon season. Care taking evolving to include the goats who inhabit the land that you have cherished and nurtured these many years. Blessings in thread for all that is yet to come. A garment of celebration is how I see your goat shirt.

    Hey Grace, I have been away to help my brother celebrate his 60th birthday and I have missed all my friends. I love the colour of your Goat shirt and how it looks with your trousers and your jumper. Clothing was a way of hiding myself when I was young altho’ it wasn’t very successful. I only became more interested in it, thinking about it, when I was feeling very bad about myself and thought it would make me feel better. Many dollars later I knew there was a deeper problem. Now I see my clothes as a statement about me and who I want to be – not as a status thing but more: this woman is creative,strong, fun, loves colours and neutrals and enjoys being comfortable. Mostly I want to not fuss about what I wear. I have never made any clothing for myself so this is a first and I am a bit hesitant about it for some reason – anyway…. glad to be back altho’ minus a car (merde, I had my first accident and now my car is “written off”, not injured). Hugs.

    i used to think in terms of talisman, amulet a lot.
    now, those words have turned into just days. just
    eating. sewing. housekeeping. goatkeeping. working for the 2 older ones. checking the oil in the truck.
    actually, checking the oil in the truck would be just
    as talismanistic as a shirt placket
