oh, Mercy

last eve, jenny and i, mostly jenny,  milked out Onday's uneven udder.  her daughter, little Mercy Now prefers one side and being an only,  this creates a Situation for Onday.

so we got a little more than a quart, some went to the dogs.  this morning after sitting in the refrigerator all night i couldn't believe my eyes.  can you see at the very bottom of the jar?  there is about 1/4" of actual "milk",  ALL THE REST OF THAT QUART IS

CREAM.    cream.  oh, the cheese this is going to make.  oh, the BUTTER it can make. oh,

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    and later, Jamie and the two girls Talula and Jora came
    and they were taste testers. ALL exclaimed! and even
    Talula, who is very prone to dislike a lot of food things said…”well, what is it they sell in the store then?, with the picture of the goat on it?”
    there is a WORLD of difference.

    How exciting…I am lactose intolerant…but can eat goat cheese and drink goat’s milk…in moderation.

    not all of them produce that much. but that’s what
    you breed for. and it’s not cream as in the 1/2 and 1/2
    at the grocery that is homogenized…a lighter kind….
    i really need to educate self to the details so i can
    speak of it correctly. i do so love to be vague……

    yes. AND, an interesting thing…in California, it is
    against the law to have dairy animals and chickens
    on the same land. so, if i end up there, i would be
    so envious of your chickens….
    there MUST be a way around it….
