i had to go back and reread the last post to see where i was…it seems a very long time ago.    and i am remembering all the times and years when Everything had to stay in my head because there was no still space to take it out and just be with it.   so, this is a good exercise.

013f
Julian.  my granddaughter's son.  and so, my Great Grandson.   he will become 3 at the end of October.  we worked on Counting with bamboo and glass beads inbetween cleaning out a goat pen.

004ff
a recurring figure.  this from the Magic Diaries cloth.

i was going to just make Eyes for a while.  but now,  this too.  but for now it just will happen in my head.

Dear Grace! Your Great Grandson is a beautiful child…..he is playing with
interesting pieces which remind me of Fig Newtons….hummm….( gonna get some soon! )
In the cloth….I love how “she” looks: Regal, solitary and distant. Anima.
The winged “presence” over her head has so much grace! Missed you lately, imagining
how busy you must be…. Sending love. E

What a handsome young man! I’d say you are right where you are supposed to be, wonderful things are occurring now and more will be revealed in your cloth because of it. This figure looks queenly to me.

am really looking at this. how they are our own selves
sometimes represented as a small boy or a wing
and then, of course, we, are FOR the wing and the small
    boy.
i have always found it somehow surprisingly beautiful
how in the birth announcements in our oh so very LOCAL
newspaper, the ones for the Navajo Nation, Alamo reservation, up beyond the first mountain, it says…
so and so, born FOR the so and so clan. not born to,
    but, born For.
    what does that MEAN?????

e…they DO look like fig newtons…i need to get some too!
    and her, well, i’m listening.
not so much busy as just so much presenting in so many
ways…trying to see it all, to take it as given with
    great attention. it’s coming fast.

So…there he is. Eyes down-turned in deep focus, dimples for knuckles, creamy new skin…soft to see, and a head full of curls…he is a treasure (but you know that). It is nice to meet him here. Beautiful.
And her…her…she floats, she glows. I still love her face, her expression. She holds a lot in that face. Beautiful.

Grace, your sharings have become very dear to me even though I’ve only commented once or twice. This happened yesterday. I prepared a long and rather rambling comment, pressed the “post” button–and the message totally disappeared. The same thing happened a few months ago. Let’s see what happens this time (while I ponder the disappearance of the others).
I love the earthy feeling of your cloth and the image of your FOR grounded to the warm earth. Thank you.

How adorable Julian is!! and it is great to SEE him. (I have a nephew Julian, BTW)… I have noticed since taking more pictures and blogging, that the process really does help mark time… or memory. I’ve decided that this is partly because I’m a visual person and the business of review keeps things somewhere…
To me, the notion of being BORN FOR suggests destiny and mission… that we each have something we are supposed to contribute… James Hillman’s notion of the daemon… he uses the acorn as analogy… it’s all there in the seed, waiting to unfold.

Grace: this comment of yours re:bringing a child or a wing alive through cloth…. is what makes the possibility of textile therapy such a fascinating possibility…Your insight emerges from the practice of the heart…. e.
