red, in small doses, like little cuts and campfires, reminds me of life.

I’m doing better this week, when I stay in the present. Thanks for the reminder… sometimes the present is pretty intense, but more manageable when not under a pile of
    tomorrows, too.

red for me is not a colour I’m comfortable with, blues and greens always there; a dash of red is enough for me.
love fires though and your red chair! and your space x

I say that too, but it is growing on me. It is bold, which I am not. But the red leaves do it just right – quietly bold.

there’s the opinion of red, and then there’s the red – your post makes the point nicely.

I used to get told that I looked “good in red”…but I have not felt comfortable when wearing it. It does not feel like me, whatever that means.
This cloth with the red added seems brighter. It looks like my last night sunset, vibrant. The sky-blue-pink of days end. Makes me smile.

here, in the Arctic every shape on the ground, on the side of a house or in the clouds suggests, hints at or begs the imagination to “see” beyond its appearance. Something else is always wanting to come alive! With each movement of the light an almost otherworldly necessity does come alive as the environment thickens its hold on life, challenging, demanding survival. At every moment, every drop of strength gets called upon to respond…. Visions are sharpened, the body senses something different, always searching, never simple….. As I see your cloth from this moment’s perspective ….I sense a Mask! Mighty presences hinted at…..Love, e.

maybe an effort of camouflage, or identification of some
kind to indicate solidarity, a gesture of honest and true
    Committment?……~
your words above are extremely beautiful…so many

    hmmmm….
i go to Michaels in Albuquerque about every six months give or take and squat, in crummy flourescent lighting at the little bins of thread. trying to see them. sometimes i have to go near their big front window with a handfull..i explain to the nearest cashier that i am not stealing…just trying to See. and you know, not once have i looked at the kinds of red they might have. NOT once.
today i put a strand of the red i used here into the walnut vat. it was there for some hours. but it wasn’t very hot today. the waters were coolish. but it did
change some. and better…kind of that “scab” red i like.
but not really. just kind of. and i googled red, looked at different reds, read about red
and the red that represents something very Important to me is Red Ochre. a pigment.
and i am going to find out from all these geologists that
i have worked for if there is that naturally occuring here,
in the land of New Mexico. might be.
the other thing i so looked for at one time was Micah.
    found it.

Yes, many of the earth tones are shades of red. I am more drawn to the red of poppies and lady bugs and the sky. The red of apples and strawberries and raspberries. Blood red is a very powerful red. That reminds me too of the piece of equipment they have in hospitals that they attach to measure oxygen in a person’s body. It glows red.
