the one that has been on the wall all this time…just the weaving and the scrap of wing.

What if i somewhere put one of the little faces, the eye scraps and what if i stitch somehow to connect them, like an arc of stitches, and what if these can represent Dreaming?  whose dream? the Butterfly's?   the Face's?  maybe even the Cloth's?

What if these can be a series?

All of the above but also, maybe even your dream(s) and yes, a series because dreams can become reality and there is so much that is real and important to acknowledge in this world and a bridge of stitches is like a never ending pathway to just going…

i think that’s what set this What if in motion. i went
to see Alz B and as she has for a long time now, she
didn’t acknowledge me being there, or for that matter,
anything in her surroundings, really, just continued the
now almost whispered monologue, a run of disconnected words, descriptions, partial words, but the very very quiet intensity of it is what strikes me, really. i woke
then from some of my dreaming that somehow has the same
quality of intensity, necessity, as her talking. the
dreams are so Vivid and equally uhhhh, not mine. i am
in them in some way or another, but they are so not
Mine. and i laughed, thinking i need to express them in
some way or when it’s time, Jenny will be listening to
them like i listen to B.

an endless series i think. i like the space between the elements. how the relationship could be so close and then so far.

I keep thinking of random words, thoughts, quiet intensity and I think weaving is like that; bits and pieces of cloth, maybe linked by color or texture, held by the in and out of moving strips, speech held by the in and out of thought or dreams, sometimes babble, sometimes stitch shorthand.

i have glanced, stared, glanced at that woven piece so
many times over the ….How Long Has It Been????…..
just looking. and suddenly the mention of What If~ing
    the other day unlocked it…
the feel and visual texture of the woven strips is
the epitomy of dreamscapes, it’s substance….
    just love this
    and you~

it would be a perfect series… the weavings are so symbolic… they can hold so many random thoughts(strips) that change from moment to moment. also when woven can hold reflections of those moments. this is a good day to have this awareness. a beginning of a new series. xo

Oooh Grace, your little basket of eyes and this dreaming cloth made me think of this, which you may have seen before but I just had to watch again. Eyes and faces connecting with us all.

Chris..if you really are “taken” by the possibility, i would
really suggest you take Jude’s class Cloth to Cloth.
it was way back in 2010 and this has been here, this long, until I,
I, was ready to really see what i am now seeing. the class
is beyond any expectation and really important to the process
    in so many ways.
Thank you for your good energy…i hope you try it.

YES! I truly think every thing in life is a series, sometimes the pieces are so far removed in time it’s difficult to realize it.

Hello Saskia! I know, I loved it when I saw it and the bit when the train comes along and the images join up is amazing. So good on so many levels. There are lots of great TED talks including two I recently saw by Brene Brown which I loved too! x

and like things in the dreams. the “story” unfolds, but
in an odd way, its just as you say above, so close then
so far….as if there are several “movies” running
    parallel and simultaneously…impossible to describe
