i know.  i know that it simply is the way it needs to be.  but still,  these loooong stretches of darkness wear on me.   i am better with them, but still, they wear on me.  so i found myself doing this on the wall just to the left of the morning chair, where i wait for the Light

some, like this last, glued on cardboard i have had for 20 some years.  some are print outs of Jude Hill's work that work with things inside me that i want to let out.  some are recent found images.

so this wall is my companion as i wait for the Light.

I have a tendency to overpopulate every pinable surface with images…. the stories take me places… of course, you know this!!

oh sigh, this is beautiful…and yes the darkness is unkind, however we’ve almost reached the shortest day and then…..more daylight -or so they tell me (although to be honest february is the toughest month for me, by then I’m truly fed up!)
anyways, some days are just harder than others; but we’re here for one another, right. xxx

    Light-filled wall grace–Lovely!
I’m listening in the dark–had this on audio tape years and years ago, it’s probably in a box in my ‘box’ room, but I no longer have a cassette tape player. So happy to find it again. I’m just scrolling back–good thing to do at the end of a mighty stressful year. Comforting–that what was relevant then, is just as relevant right now.

I collect and print off many images that speak to me too Grace. Surround myself with them, in my journals, in my art room…in my kitchen!!! my fridge looks like a giant collage sometimes, but people find it interesting. The images make me happy, calm.
It is beautiful to see your wall…I can imagine sitting in your chair, seeing them in the different lights, noticing different things, different days.
Thanks for sharing this with us. I am enjoying our longer days over my side of the world. It really lifts the spirit this time of year. I imagine your winters can get tough some times…conditions and the long periods of darkness. Thinking of you and sending warmth and light.
Love to you and the goats,

It’s interesting to me grace to hear people on blogs I follow talking about winter darkness, being midsummer here in Australia, already having had two heatwaves. Your wall of images is so fascinating because I love to see what other artists put on their inspiration walls.

you know, Michelle, i’d never listened to him till you
sent the email of him after his stroke. how great that
that was first, then this now. i listened twice today
    as i stitched.
i’d always thought of him as some kind of “star” and
is that an Opinion or What?
thank you beyond Thank You for this….how completely
    perfect in this particular day…

make a huge difference. i can’t live with them all the
time, but when i NEED them, ahhhhhh.

Chris…so many of Jude’s people are in Australia….that
is so interesting to me. and do you NEVER get winter???
like COLD and SNOW? i guess even yet i don’t know that.
but then, i also know that different parts of your continent are very different one from another.
this is not my ordinary “inspiration” wall. Actually,
i don’t use pics much at all anymore. keep some in folders
that i don’t really look at a lot. All of it seems to be
coming out of my head, or somewhere, anyway.
these pics i like because they kind of whirl, i don’t see them individually, but their energy maybe. hmmmm.
    will think more about this.
    Thank you…thank you a lot.

Thank you for a thoughtful reply. As for winter, here on the Adelaide plains (South Australia) we don’t get snow, though they do in the Adelaide Hills. They can keep it – I grew up in England and had enough snow. Our winters in SA are quite mild and often not enough rain and we get a drought …..
