this is why i so much don't like leaving for work…i am on a roll here. i had the feeling that making these "small cloths" would have important things to teach me and it seems to be so….

I remember those kids drawings when the sun was always stuck into the top corner of the drawing… not round, kind of round with a triange on one side. Your sun -your shape… I think a sun just needs to be… um, sunny!

beautiful colors here–so evocative of earth and water–and i do believe fire–the orange curvy piece–your sun perhaps?– sun wings? anyway, it is so nice–a perfect partner to the green water wing.

No. But ….why not try the sun piece across the top? The color so goes with the delicious greens ……seriously delish….I like the rectangle piece too, but add it to the orange somehow…ohhhhh my fingers just itch and twitch to touch this cloth and visit with you and the goats…..

yes. different but the same. and do you notice your
scrap at the top of the Hill? it’s the otherside of
Julian’s turtle fabric????
patience is a virtue.
i love both Suns. have a tendency for the first, but the
second is more in keeping with what i’m trying to learn
right now. to NOT be dependant on the beauty of the
scrap, or it’s unusual quality, but to find a way to make
beauty from what is easily at hand. this is really
important now. so…we’ll see. I had to go off to work
and leave it. Hard. I wanted to continue.

like the second one, right???? yes. Suns and Suns shape
are deep inside us and i love that, ” a sun just needs to
be…um, sunny!” that made me smile so much reading it
the first time and now again. yes. um, sunny?

your girls would too. goats like little girls a lot.LikeLike

the green wing is interesting, but distracting and not
in keeping with all the rest, so i have to subdue the
land shark into a hill. you’ll see. but i love the
thought….

that scrap is from a very small amount of a chunk of cloth
that i have had for maybe 30 years???? was some kind
of drapery fabric maybe? got it from an Antique/Used stuff
on consignment place SO long ago and have just carried it
around, never really using it for anything at all. Just
loving it.
xoxo backLikeLike

I like the first one too,but as long as the sun is warm – shape doesn’t matter.
Sometimes it seems to be the whole sky on a hot day in the summer.
Unrelated, do you like the smell of sandalwood? I have a little something I would like to send you.LikeLike

i have one piece of jude’s work and it a sun that is square. it is wonderful.

I love the colors and the different textures of the fabric. And your sun is glowing – more than a round sun could. So it seems to be a part of a really big and warm sun.
Thats what I´m longing for. Here there is one grey day after another and I look at your sun and feel better 🙂LikeLike
-
this could be a part of a bigger sun ..the arc appearing here suggesting the rest.
to me it is the sun we have here this week . sending searing starting fires heat. the sun is heat raditating. i see heat.perhaps where you are cold, it might be sending warmth.LikeLike

she mentioned that and yes…i remember it. and
thinking all about this in the context of the Spirit
Cloth post today.LikeLike
-
more and more i need Sun. ordinarily, there is Some
each day. and i can feel my biological self respond.
i try to “work with” that knowing and lessen it. but
it just IS.
I would send you boxes of Sun if i could. you could take
them out and dangle them all around your work space.
