crickets.  dark.

005
this is mid day.

006f
and Julie…some where…during the day….This Happened!!!  Look!, Meera!  OH!

007
does she stay

on her own cloth?  or do these cloths become one?

i don't know.

and a long phone thing with K, my  old friend/mentor/partner with bookstore/wife of Cas and i am pretty much stunned tonight with the beauty of how things are.  and in the distance, dogs bark and fight and close up, crickets sing.  and i planted seeds.  i planted seeds.  seeds.  food and flower.  and the Goats watched.  they don't wonder stuff.  they just Watch and Know.

Am I seeing things or is that some ancient bra or bustier on top of that napkin? And you are asking so I will say that I like your mega undoing icon, as I refer to her myself, with not so wide a pice behind her… Maybe even none. But then she has already told me who she is and what she said might be from another lifetime than the one she is experiencing with you. And I hope mr fix it man comes tomorrow. It’s hard thinking of you without connection… Though it isn’t really true, is it? We do become hooked to our plug ins. It’s good for us to be unplugged occasionally. But I prefer to choose when I want to be unplugged. And I remember those Sharon astyk days as well… What a big conversation that was… Life changing for me. It brought so much into perspective. Xo and have a wonderful night.

Looking in on your evening now from my morning–Your cloths, my cloths over at the blue table thinking themselves into something once remembered–your crickets are my chortling pigeons–your thoughts on people, my thoughts on last night’s poets and the walk home through city traffic–your fighting dogs last night, my neighbors poor little unhappy yapping poodle in the street below–That Golden new Mexican light fading, my gray dawn rising into a bit of bird song from the starlings. This predawn to dawn time is most precious to me. Glad to see your computer has gotten back on track

Yes Nance, Sharon Astyk and how we moved along then and spent the summer reading and discussing Barbara Kingsolver’s, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, A Year of Food Life: each of us chronicling our gardens, tales of hands in the dirt and how we came to the land and how we each adapted frugality in terms of our pantries, and putting by…
And, grace. She on the wall: she has caught a wind drift maybe but what I really think is that she is listening to an underground beat pulsating from the ground, maybe a bit of salsa magic in the air, because She is dancing on that wall and I want to join her…and maybe adorn myself with that cloth with the bustier, and twirl and shimmy and shake because last night I was watching my beloved Celia Cruz on Youtube. Dear Salsa Queen Celia who in her 70’s, came out in a long sequined blue gown, wearing a blue wig and as she sang, she sauntered and moved her hips and shoulders to that blood pumping music and I kicked back my chair and joined her and this morning, residue of her magic still with me, I shimmied down the hall.

it is…it’s the bustier that Julie sent that she
salvaged from Dead Horse Bay….how when i moved it
from the West window curtain and put it on the wall,
the napkin and it…just gravitated together…
and the word Perspective. big, this morning.
waiting for light so i can watch the mega undoing icon
some more before i Set Out

That is quite a thing that happened on that cloth, Grace!! I’m jealous of crickets, we don’t get them until late July/August around here. Haven’t even had frog songs yet. Love what you say about goats… so true!

Hello, Grace. If she were mine, I might make her into a tie. Like a man’s tie. And I would embellish her with thread, and wear her with a lightly- or un-ironed linen shirt and jeans or cut-offs.
I am glad you have posted every day. I wish I had your discipline. Anyway…
    Thanks

I have a book I got years ago when I went to New Orleans – Storyville…the bustier reminds me of something like that. And on the radio yesterday, a story about how there was this locked room full of Frido Kahlo’s clothing and possessions and there is this woman – a fashion curator (!) – who created an exhibt of Kahlo’s clothing…
