a Hollyhock.  and as long as the leaf is not disturbed by movement, they are all mouth to the leaf.  but if it is, they rise up against one another and seem to fight?  so…are they Meek?  or  well, something else entirely????

and the Datura, that i had sadly Sacrificed because of the Goats, has continued.  there are Many,  all over the house garden area.  Do i pull these too?  or, take our chances?

and then.

the subtle difference is there in all these pics, maybe hard to really See, but….

at first i thought it is an Altar Cloth.   but the Image is really only visible in diffused light, or when it is hanging (pinned).  flat, on a surface in relative Sun light, it becomes obscurred.  ??????

the question is:  Do i somehow honor this ?  and leave it as is?

OR, do i enhance the Image that appeared, even just some, even just a little.  i did that, just a very little with Pitt pen, sepia…so, i'm talking about just a little more….?????

and then, either way, i don't want to stitch on the Image.  i don't know why, but i don't want to.  Either way, whatever is stitched would be ummmm,  around the Image.  maybe even between the marks of the image, which would mean it would need to be very very small, that stitch…

?????????

as far as fabric…the top is the silk noile.  there is a walnut dyed harem cloth, then the back of some cotton, also walnut dyed.  i think the cotton is from the vestment of an altar boy.

Mmmm–these shots are spectacular today–those self sufficient, competitive caterpillars mean to live! I’d probably keep the
Datura away from the goats if I were you (they do tend to eat foliage. I know the seeds can be hallucinogenic, and I understand many parts of the plant are poisonous…but to what? Noe sure, so I’d er on the side of caution (vet bills being what they are). That subtle and perfect cloth does seem to have a mind of it’s own. I can feel you attuning to it. Nice.

I like it best against the light colored background but in conversation with the other brown fabrics on the pillows….making it all one large piece.

The datura… Several years ago, a friend gave me some “moonflower” seeds and I planted. I was thinking moonflower vine–but it was datura. And it looked like it was going to be very invasive. So I pulled them all–and I think I wore gloves to do it. The next spring I had to pull them again. They just made me so uneasy. I am happier without them.
And the cloth… It keeps changing for me. Now I am back to thinking it needs very little done to it. If it was me, I’d proceed slowly with lots of stopping and looking. It feels potent. A forcefield.

i have always loved datura. had a wonderful plant once that was just wonderful,
it didn’t spread here. i was in panama on a bus and there along the road were milions of daturas in full bloom. it was spectacular. they were everywhere..
guess i don’t have the climate for it, but you are a much warmer climate.
here it is fennel and blackberries and morning glories..

Re Datura: Out here we call it Jimsonweed…and it is bad mojo..no matter what size of animal or child ingests it. The young leaves and seeds are the most deadly. Since the goats are not out in pasture where they have other choices, there’s the chance of something floating around into their feed. Take care.

the Mother Datura has been here for years. When the
little boy Julian came last summer, i pulled Her for that.
but the Hawk moths rely on Datura here. always such a
    dilemma.
    see what you think now…, it’s Saturday….
