the second bloom. somehow maintaining through an all night rain
and on the line, a true rag, a pink cleaning rag i brought home from somewhere and put in the cast iron walnut dye pot…a pale purple lavendar. interesting. no brown or grey. and it's cotton. ????
seems to have self healed. good then.

what ever it cleaned might still be in it acting as a color changer.

Could it have been an acid base (maybe vinegar)cleaner…changed the Ph..that could alter the dye pot to a lighter color. It will be interesting to see if it alters the entire pot…or gives a variety of shades…oh, that could get very interesting.

well, this is funny. i didn’t post on the last one. bee cause. when i looked at the picture all i heard were the lyrics to “Delta Dawn” and i thought if i posted and mentioned that it would probably be stuck in my head all day–and so i didn’t comment but it’s stuck in my head anyway. aaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. this is surely some strange affliction.

i have a really awful PINK linen thrift shop shirt. in a
while, i’ll put in some of that and see what happens…
and maybe i’ll put in a piece of that original shirt with the flowers and see if it comes out differently or the same.

What if, opps..excuse me, Jude….you did that science experiment (but holding back some… then # 2 put some of the A.P.L. shirt and overdye in an indigo pot and see if you get in the purple range…then # 3 lightly bleach a piece of each original fabric and then put a small portion from the walnut pot. Have you any wool scraps you could throw in ?
