i woke to this.   it

snowed

quietly.  the WIND that had been forecast was not present.  and during the night,  it snowed.  silently.   i slept.  i didn't know.  but i am sure that the Goats watched.  them, not knowing either, but,  watching.

same view as just the other day, but totally different

SUN did come

i made macaroni and cheese.  "grandma's macaroni and cheese",  my

mother's

macaroni and cheese.  which we eat with katchup.

and i read that book.  and THOUGHT a lot.  and went to the old folks home where the Baptist Church people were singing their church songs and Alz B KNEW them and sang along, knowing many of the words,  for sure knowing the tunes.  it was Beyond Strange.

and  then my grand daughter called with all manner of odd  questions because she was filling out a questionairre about donating her eggs.

Only a dusting of snow here, but really COLD. Suppose to dip down to 9 tonight, brrrrrr. Stove is well stoked and on slow, overnight burn. Sometimes I hit it right. A strange phone call, indeed, I can’t imagine the questions, or maybe I can, maybe.

i sometimes wonder at all the changes over our lifetime.
the snow looks so peaceful and the goats must have been surprised.

oh gosh, it seems so strange to see snow there. when mom could not hardly remember anything any more, she knew the words to songs and every old tune i could name.

Such vision Grace…perfect story telling again.
Re Alz B. There’s a wonderful project–look up ‘Music and Memory’–they found that even severe Alz folk remember “their” music, and the project finds “their” music (through interviews and knowing the music of their times, records it all on an ipod, and it’s then used in their care. Apparently the connection to music remains strong. It transforms their world, makes them feel at home, I think. There are videos to watch. The Dr. who started it is still doing it.
Wishing you a beautiful week, and many more. I’ll be gone till early December. I’ll be missing you.

Yes, perfect storytelling. Again. What captures me is the hoof prints in the snow. The adapting to the new and startling.

yes. i do know the Music and Memory project. from a
    while back.
she can’t use an ipod. and somehow also does not respond
much to recorded music. it’s the Live presentation that’s
important. but it always was for her. she was always
into Events. like the music program up at the College
and the music nights at one of the local restrauants.
    the VIBES.
what’s the MOST interesting to me is that she was brought
up in an extremely uhhh, what i would call rigid Christian Science home. and i really didn’t think they had so many
ties to this gospel kind of music. not even gospel, but
traditional middle of the road christian music. i was
brought up in a Baptist church, so i know all those songs
too. and also, she was more agnostic, never having much interest at all in religion. when she moved here maybe going on 20 years ago, she attended a Unitarian congregation off and on but mostly off. didn’t have much interest. and it’s not like she (who ever her present
she is) is into the religious part of it, in a personal
way. it’s very amazing, really. someone who cannot make
even the most simple sentence. whose speech is a jumble
of words and just sounds…..sitting there…(i almost wish i could take a photograph of her) trilling away
parts of songs like she’s in the Choir, sometimes only
some of the lyrics, but Always the correct tune.
have a wonder Full time away. i will happily think of you there. LOVE

i think maybe Goats just register stuff like SNOW
    as
    PHENOMENON.
that they just say…EEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! and then go
see if they can find something to eat in it all
