283 balance

today there was balance.  i went back…to the beginning of Jude's online classes….and just wandered around.  What a Wealth of ALL MANNER OF THINGS.  and so much,  i was not ready for, at that time, but now see so differently and more clearly.  it was Wonder Full.  and so.  That's what i am going to do, during her Sabbatical ….Re~View.   My Selfish Self is content.

Going through my notebook, looking for pass words i came across a printout of this cloth.  had totally forgotten it.  looked and found it.  there's something about it that i like.  so…my first thing will be to take it apart.  do a walnut dip of the Pinkish base cloth.  see what happens and then maybe go from there.  This might be interesting.  at the time, i had NO idea what to do.  but now, since i have LEARNED things, who knows how it might go.  Smile.

    But of course–how sensible–review in the light of experience. What could be a better way to begin 2014! This bright rediscovered cloth should be fun to play with. I’m staying in town for Christmas and will be a lazy tourist in my City. Mid-January I will take a two day train trip to a tiny town in Florida to reunite with my old friend for a birthday celebration thanks to her generous gift of a round trip ticket.

    Grace, I had excactly the same idea, going back to the very first lesson of Jude and with knowledge of now….time will pass
    Jude is not a guru, I don’t like the submission, but she changed a lot!
    she made me accepting my bedbound life a bit better!

    me too!–i will work with you there and thank you for this wonderful solution. i’m thinking it will also be an opportunity to take some of the other classes that i haven’t taken. maybe the boro cloth. maybe all of them. i’m excited–there’s such a wealth of material.

    I feel fortunate to have been able to take a class with Jude. I’m so glad I did not wait until I retired.

    Re your cloth: the top piece that dips down, and the other pieces, speak to me of a curtain drawn back and the pieces like flaps. I enlarged and saw that they look to be stitched down but if the bottom on each was left unstitched, they could be lifted and who knows what you would find once you turn that mauve pink into a more earthy color…cloth is so giving, you can go back to old cloth that has served you well or has waited and seeing with fresh eyes, possibilities loom to re-create. I like to do that once in a while, feels as if I am re-birthing cloth…

    review is good… sometimes it was too much for me, because a single phrase could be the source of weeks of exploration. Having just taken my own time away, I can say that moving more fully into one’s own thoughts can be good.

    I’Will be sure to photograph any I see. We are close to a bird, wildlife refuge so there should be many opportunities for photography…and the ocean. I haven’t seen the ocean in years and years. That will be a treat too.
