THEN….this.   Jude's cloth is back.  back to it's Place, there in the center, under the Treasure Shelf.   and  look how it's very bottom fray touches.  and how the fringe extends into.

There is much more to see here but i need to Work Away.

Belonging, both there, both staying there, holding story, holding spirit. From where I sit, you can’t ask more of cloth…except that it stay where it is “meant” to be.

This is such a familiar view for me of pond and reflection with the dividing line where land meets water. It excites me to look at this. It almost needs nothing done to it. And I wonder what it will become for you.

having worked away monday and yesterday, i am really needing
a certain kind of day Here today and i woke up to pee at
around 2:30 and just decided to stay up and get the fire
going so when FirstLight breaks, i can BEGIN….
so i have been sitting the morning chair tending that fire
and watching that cloth on the wall. watching how i
put Your cloth back above it and then how i arranged
both so that the red fringe is now touching INTO that
    other world.
it’s 5:20 and it’s still not warm in here

Made all the difference last night to sleep with all of my dyed cloth pieces pinned to the window covering to act as a layer of insulation. During the day, some of the thinner pieces let the light shine through and at one point, I felt a deep sense of reverence;not the church kind but the kind that says the light of Winter Solstice is coming. Temps are about 10 degrees outside and what I didn’t expect is to find such cold weather here in the desert but then, this is the high desert and so it fits that all kinds of weather will come. This is one of the reasons we left Maui, no discernible season changes and I do need my seasons…

We’re still cold here but not what some of you have..finally had some pipes burst yesterday afternoon so husband spent his birthday doing repairs. Oh Marti, 10 degrees..ouch.
Grace, Marti and your piece is really lovely..it’s so tempting to say I see this and I see that but this time..it seems a very personal journey for you..am enjoying watching this unfold..appreciate you sharing. Safety and warmth to all in winter coldness..

Thanks Judith. We are now at about 27 and the high should be 39 – positively a heat wave! And to all of you who are living in the cold, a little story from when we lived in Texas: My husband wanted to go to Lubbock because they have a great windmill museum so off we went, in the dead of summer, in our old car that doesn’t have air conditioning. Temps hovered at about 102 degrees so my bright idea was to get cups of ice water, drink the water, take the ice, put the ice cubes on top of my head, put my straw hat on top of my head and cool off…As you drove by our car, you would have seen me sitting there hat on head, melting ice cubes dripping water all down my face. My husband Rich was simply too “cool” to look that silly but I sure felt good!

thinking a bit more about finding the essence of the cloth, the spirit of the cloth… the act of hanging Marti’s cloth horizontally changed your (& our as your viewers) perception to a horizon line, then you amplified that recognition by allowing those red cords to touch the edge… will be interesting to see where this cloth takes you (& us) Grace!

I am just needing to pause in my day of cold with the iciest blue skies to tell you how much I love coming home to my current book, which I found here. World Enough and Time. You are so right, nothing we didn’t already know but woven together so lyrically….thank you!

Can’t stop giggling as I visualize this..darn clever I say..Truth be told, if I’d been in the back seat, probably would have felt as your husband did plus proceed to pass out from heat stroke. Too cool can obviously not be the smartest thing to be. Thanks for the story!
