so with the Magic Diaries Cloth atop the plasticed West Window,  the Wall is again FREE.  this is good and maybe even very Necessary.   here are three strips of a wool blanket that i had put into the Walnut pot on the wood stove.  and then, two the original color of the blanket.  i began  doing this thinking that when What If Diaries resumed in January and focused on weaving,  i would need something to show for myself.  i am NOT a weaver,  other than the cloth weaving i've learned from Jude which i love, but i really am saving Weaving for my next life.   But, i need and my normal dog Chinche needs,  a small very warm utilitarian rug for in front of the wood stove.  my feet,  her butt.

i like this.  the wool of the blanket allows the walnut to seep in slowly if i put the strip on edge.  i'll keep adding strips to the pot until i have enough for a small rug.  then stitch them, woven.  i love the feel of the needle going through the wool.

Yvette…it makes me wish i was you…a felter, and  and Martine and Suzanna.   but…next life.

Love your strips, full of character. The wool I wove together feels most like a rug. A wonderful use.

because the blanket was washed a few times at the
laundromat, it felted in a way. it was from the Thrift
    Shop.
and so, it’s thick of itself.
and cut in these strips, it will stitch together in
    an interesting way, i’m thinking.
i just love the feel of it. how i love wool.
in the same way i love cotton. Wool/Cotton
    cold/warm.
    each perfect in their time

yes. and she deserves it. she so diligently comes there.
to my knees, in front of the fire. but the floor is COLD.
so…it will really matter for her.

Just lovely how the light strips have woven themselves in to the mix, and really sweet to be making something for your little ‘family’

this image took my breath. just as it is, it’s enough. the image. something about the black and white, unified polarity. the sunspots on the wall enhancing the shapes. i think this could be a sign. your symbol. that’s how i see it. your mark.

First impression was that I had wandered into a santuario (sanctuary), had such a strong sense of the holy. Yes, I know the cross shapes and all but it was the total sense, the weaving, the light on the wall…then I read and of course, this little wool weaving will provide shelter from the cold for Chinche and that is a very fine and loving use of this “holy” cloth.

I like how you have to clarify “my normal dog.” Like saying “my black dog” or “my three legged dog.” In your pack, it is the distinguishing feature…

i had to look that up…sigil….didn’t know the word.
but before there was Jesus, there were intersecting lines
here to there, above and below and then the woven of
    it All….

does it come from those associations i wonder? that
we Learned? the crucifixion? or does it come from
    way before that occurred
