how ClothMaking can embody premonition.   This   is the energy i need to hold now.  just this.

IMG_7659f

almost.

and what if i attached a piece of cloth to….cover….whatever will be in that center?  it will  NOT be this scrap…it was just atop the basket…, so not this scrap,  but something????

and Judith of N. California inadvertantly pointed me to this.   it arrived today.  i'd like to somehow incorporate more drawing in the cloths…thread drawing….but,  drawing.

Holding the center, hiding the center, wondering about the center…that word premonition has always bothered me because I think of it as portending something worrisome. But when I speak of holding center, in this case, cloth holding center, cloth as a container, the center perhaps holding something troublesome until it can see the light of day, be looked at clearly, examined, dealt with, or simply let go…and the Winter Solstice is just around the corner and the light coming brings clarity.

It’s just the word, I think. I associated Grace’s meaning with something that I have found working with cloth. I make something following an inspiration which I don’t fully understand at the time. . .and some time later I come to a deeper meaning of my own work, as if it were reaching out to something in the future. and yes, I agree with your thoughts on center. . . .”holding the center, hiding the center, wondering about the center.” my center has been holding some vague, troublesome stuff that I think will be “let go” as the darker days turn.

so i’m sitting here now, looking at “morning” and humming
“Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word”
and i have to add–praise for your cloth here–the lovely hopeful woman–and praise for thinking about drawing with thread. i’m intrigued and yes, a door did open. yes.

Yvette…no….dividing is not a goal. the dividing in
the pic just came from looking at the person’s face.
    NO. there is no dividing.
You are right. there is no need to divide. Anything.
    Anyone.

no to this too. i could have said precognition, but i
like premonition better. seeing ahead of one’s own
consciousness. intuition. i just have Known the changes
before they are coming. nothing worrisome.
and the piece over the center…
    to keep it
to keep it softly a WONDER. maybe or maybe not….
but Maybe. to lift it when there wants to be more
    focus????
    i don’t know yet.

yes. this is how it goes a lot. not understanding at the
time but then…..it was reaching to the future. yes.
the center here and the cover of it…not anything
    troublesome, just something very tender.

    oh how they open…..
that’s where “my” First Bird comes from…that Cat
Stevens song. there is a First Bird here in the warm
months that makes a one single note call…one single note..
    one single note
before light. i don’t know who it is. so to me, it’s
    First Bird.
How about prasie for All Cloth, all thread, all Doors

that image is on a little wooden table painted with images
from Mimbres peoples. so, knowing where they lived, i
am thinking it’s a wild mountain sheep.
and that made me laugh. our tails move if we move.
