i thought it would be a "Free" day.  got cancelled from my Monday work.  they were sick.  so went to check on Alz. B and then a couple small errands.  Home.  Putting groceries away i got a phone call.

the Very Nice Guy who will help with Goat hoof trimming on going was on the phone to tell me he was outside my gate and wondering how it all was going, did i have a minute?  well,  what does one say??? ok.  and the minute turned into 2 cups of tea and long.  he IS very nice.  and DOES do interesting things.  but

i

am very nice too.  and try to do interesting things.  but ok and oh well.  that left Goat stuff and Wood stuff.  A day.

is this the way it should go????  i don't know.  do i want a MOON?  i don't know.  where are all the other scraps, like for the rest of the sky?  or is this one piece enough to say SKY?  i don't know.  and then what is the MIDDLE?   i have always envisioned Grasses.  those would be stitched tho.  here again, i am in a dilemma about covering the Tea Dye cloth.  i always do that.  i end up just love ing the Tea Dye and not wanting to cover it.  i need to come to terms with that at some point.

But i DO love the thread tangle at the base of the Shelter.  just threads.  random…love them.

Deep earth tones, my favorite and so I look and see shelter yes but the shelter is in a cave made from the tea dyed cloth and the blue is not a moon but an opening in the cave to let the sky come in and to let the spirits come in and find solace and also to let some of them spirit themselves away. I know that is what happened to the curly white strip from this morning that I no longer see…! those browns, those blues are something and coming from one who loves green above all else, you can see how this cloth has crept into my consciousness- beautiful.

Perhaps no dilemma at all…perhaps a cover is not a necessary…it’s all process in and amongst your tasks, thoughts and interesting doings. I can mail you more indigo blues to tone in tea if you wish. email me if you would like some. Love to you.

i always hesitate to say. to say things like “stop now. do this do that.” it’s simply too much. someone said to me one time–“stop now, right there, enough.” and it totally mucked with me, although they were right, i think. so this dilemma of yours–so familiar with it–i think it will just sort itself out. and i’ll watch with a smile and as much support as you need. because i trust your ability to listen to the cloth. and to hear.

i like the threads at the bottom, too.
first thought … the threads make a nest within the shelter.

Watching and appreciating this cloth as fiber speaks and you listen and stitch holds and moves cloth, images floating to awareness as I look…with great love for the process of this unfolding cloth picture, a solstice journey, I see, and love.

I find it really difficult to cover the cloth as well. I just like to stitch into it and later this may lead to covering or not, or just a few scraps or not, dilemmas.

isn’t it just stunning???? the process????
whether or not what ends up appealing to anyone else, the
process makes us as individual makers receiving the things that surround them????? taking them IN, trying to speak of it?

stunning, for certain sure..each post finds me more pulled into the story of the cloth…a story that does not need words or descriptors..it is truly just going…and most beautifully doing that..I am fully taking in the essence of this piece…following the journey in photos..thank you for the sharing.
