our BeLoved Buckwheat…who went off in the worst storm of 2013 to become Herd Sire at Deadbroke Ranch in Los Cruces

has sired two beautiful healthy doelings.  With Jasmine.  i wish i could put pics here, but they send with a wierd phone camera….but they are excellent little doelings…one so very much like Celia, her half sister here all electric black and white and the other totally BLACK except for a white FLASH at the end of her tail…which is unusual

Buckwheat stands like one confident goat. Relaxed. Alert. He looks GREAT. Oh my, what a lovely way to end the day; an image of beautiful unseen doelings forming in my minds eye. Thank you.

Well done Buckwheat because the world always needs more little Celia beings/doelings and to know that there is yet another little special doeling, the midnight black one with the white tuft, she in my mind will be called Estrellita (little star) for the blazing white at the end of her tail. Celia for the wonderful salsa Queen Celia Cruz, Estrellita for the stars that shine in the midnight sky, music and starlight, a lovely way to signify the end of this year and the beginning of the new one…

Grace…A strong, healthy Buckwheat carries with him so much of your love and care; now he is creating an expanded herd that will all reflect the beauty that he is. Your delight in this news comes sailing off the page and into my soul…sharing this celebratory news with you.

    congratulations
as I was scrolling back and forth through your last posts, all of a sudden I saw a connection between the goats and the latest cloth you’re making, I cannot put into words really what I mean, there is a sense of ‘goatness’ in this piece

YES. WELL DONE, Buckwheat. and i remember calling Jenny’s
friend who is a very known Nigerian breeder and her saying it didn’t matter what his pedigree is, didn’t matter his beauty, didn’t matter anything except he had those HORNS.
that NO one would want a buck with those HORNS. but then, she was contacted by these women, a mother and a daughter in Los Cruces who said they didn’t care about the HORNS.
and there it Went….it taking hours to load him that evening in the horrible storm. how he was afraid. and then he was gone.
    gone.
and then i didn’t hear from them for a long time. and
imagined things. but the woman’s other daughter had breast cancer and she was with her. but now home, how all these phone pics are flooding the email…how happy they are with these two little doelings, how Buckwheat has found his PLACE….

i DID marry someone just like him.
and if you were a goat you’d have to be prepared to
share. but then…that might be a good thing.
