slow stitching.  i did another round of the blue ellipse….because i only ever use one seperated strand of  6strand floss…. and i wanted to add a little to the RED one…a little of the redorange in two places.  and then i begin the seed stalks of the grass.  which can barely be seen, so pale a greygreen.  but they're there.   now i need to decide which of the grasses these will be

or blue grama.  these are from the Magic Diaries Cloth

and as it was too late again for available light …. i am finding self wandering a little late in the day.  it IS staying light longer and so my timing for things is off.  will need to move into some kind of transitional mode….anyway…too late,  so i took a pic with the Flash and then trying to get the grass stems to show up,

i fooled with the light and shadow and there's no use falling in love with this,  it isn't how the cloth IS, but oh jeez.   just look.  makes me breathless.

I love your sense of place and that you stitch it. I need to learn how to do that. It feels like this one is moving beyond being an altar cloth.

yes. the altar cloths need to be free of
    me
    my personal stuff.
this one is going beyond that.
sense of Place. that’s rising up, anew, again, circling around.
What’s me? What’s the Place? how do i tell the difference?

those ellipses! how they might tilt and swirl and spin.
and the grasses, each more beautiful than the last.

Feather grass, ethereal but real, lacey but strong, can see them swaying in the wind, “dancing” with the thread swirls…homage to place.

Grace, this cloth has elements that are truly delicious…the grasses sing with a delightful song to me..it is very good.
Thinking from a prior post about the seeds for your area, heritage seeds, good seeds, and read a post in “A Way to Garden” today…at this link: http://awaytogarden.com/the-oldest-of-heirlooms-in-native-seeds-search-catalog-and-seed-bank/
is an interview with the man who maintains a native seed bank in Arizona..great information, perhaps a place that would work for your climate and soil.
Following along with much joy as this cloth is telling the stody very well to me

and so you have it. Feather grass it is.
i “combed” the hair of many of the very old feather grass
yesterday…there is a really good feeling of “pull”
    with the rake….
