the afternoon. continuing to read Gaia's Garden. BEGINNING to really understand the concept of permaculture. Amazing, how you can" know" things for a long time, but then SUDDENLY really begin to understand. MAYBE i am beginning to understand. maybe. but this is hauling wheelbarrow full x 4 of the straw and manure from the Albatros…mixed in, the remnants of the oat hay i bought a year ago when i was afraid i couldn't find feed for the Goats. it is interesting to see that it has hardly changed. has retained it's form. oat hay. one of the least nutritious feed for livestock. also does not break down. ????? but here, as Mulch. i will make it thick. it's an experiment. i am excited to know what happens.
