maybe a day better left to itSelf?

it there were a moment when i might or should skip a day,  this probably is it.   but being a creature of habit….

yesterday,  just Yesterday,  the house was all neat because of Company.  today…well these are two pics.  there's more.  a lot more very similar, but you get the drift IMG_8537f

all for this very peaceful  String and Cloth loom….which you would find really humorous if you could have seen me trying to figure it out and  finally realizing that all that effort was totally unnecessary…

will begin again.   

but i did rake and burn all the dry weeds outside the fence so there is now access to the parts car and the starter can be taken and put in the one i drive,   or did  until  a month or so ago.   Small things.  maybe just as well left un noted, but oh well.  it WAS a day

    it is, isn’t it. it’s a cushion cover. fabric i got a long time
    ago…believe it or not, from a Walmart sale table. it’s cotton and
    feels like those old chintz or whatever fabrics…and there’s two
    …they never loose their integrity, no matter how much washing.
    i do love it. love the colors, love the flowers, love the feel
    of them. Sometimes life just gives us something Lucky.

    well…i was BIZZY. scurrying about….going through
    boxes and tins trying to find string, and not
    but oh well, leaving the boxes and tins where they lay
    and in and out
    and FIRE burning which always scares me to do but it needed
    to be done and i did it and the old man Alberto cruized
    past in his old pickup and sloooooowed stopping and sitting
    there in the driver’s seat, not looking at me, but straight ahead as it is here in N M, looking away, said
    “you are a very busy woman.” and i said Si. Yes, i am.
    and he kept staring off. and there were moments of just
    silence. and then he nodded. and i made some kind of
    gutteral sound. and he drove away, slowly. slowly.

    Some days I stick to what I know and some days I experiment . Yesterday everything just flowed … Today I stuck to the basics . Be here now , kathy . It is all real .
    I love seeing the pile of fabric … I could dive right in !

    in a certain way, i am gifted by never really knowing.
    for me
    it’s all still an experiment.
    you would love the pile then. it is such a great pile…
    and i tore strips and just flung them into the pile, feeling SURE that at some moment i don’t know yet, a so small strip will be the perfect thing.
    it didn’t go as i’d thought, but it DID go. and i have all these half formed images in my head somewhere….

    I love the swirling strings at the bottom of the loom, like waves foaming. I know how things can go from neat to chaotic in a blink, especially when inspiration is striking.

    but these ARE the things, aren’t they? that really make up our days–that create the solid foundation–the bedrock of our going. i loved this post. Alberto your guttural noise. the socks on the floor the moon in the center on the table. all of it.

    the chaos IS chaotic, but i NEED that. i need it all
    just as it falls…how things seem to find eachother, magnetize to the cloth that’s coming. it HAS to get this
    way.

    see how we are????
    each of us, individually, sometimes feels like our little
    boats are taking on water and suddenly, we appear for
    eachother with our little tin cups and start bailing out
    the boat…
    LOVE. Love how you look closely …. the socks….
