coming back from feeding this morning i saw this….and thought Spirit Birds had come…..but no,  the young cottonwood has come of age.

ran back to the Albatros for the ladder to see closely.  YES!  this tree is male.   ran to the other one by the Buck pen…no.  That tree is female.   This year they are three years old.  So it has proven true again.  The first year,  the tree or bush will decide to live or die.  The second it will establish good root system.  and in the Third,  it will begin to Become all that it is.

Those are strange birds indeed. I love the thought of you running for the ladder. And I really like seeing this kantha creep and how it changes things–adds so much depth and texture.
I tried to load some frog song. You may have to turn your volume way up. They will get louder as it gets a bit warmer so maybe I can try again in a couple weeks. Let me know if it works.

You are greening up. Looks good. We are so green and fresh and spring. Love the red dye thread. Is that for the new art heart. My daughter went to new Orleans to a dye artist conference mon Tuesday. Check the pics on donna Wagner wilkinson. Facebook know you don’t care much for it. :). She took her little caldron and did a dye.

ha, cottonwood is ‘populier’ in Dutch, they are such a common sight in this part of the Netherlands and do indeed shed cotton-like fluff later on in the spring; along our road there’s a row of cottonwoods and they make the most beautiful rustle-sound when in leaf, you feel like you’re surrounded by waves….I look forward to their music
the kantha is yet again very beautiful, I always love your kantha; in this piece I like the combination of the woven and the soft kantha ripples

I know I’ve said it before, but your kantha just comforts me. (I really thought they were birds until going further down.)
