WIND went home.  back to behind the Rim.   not till this afternoon,  but finally and there is a huge sense of Relief.  Palpable.

the roof repair completed same time as Wind's departure.  my world is my own again.  Relief.  Palpable.

and i needed.  NEEDED to surface from under all the DUST.  we remember,  the word Polvadera, where i live,  that word translates to Nothing but dust.  or,  Place of dust.  and so it is.  and dust, meaning the finest of sand particle…again, as i have said before,  more similar to those pics of allergens…little spikey pronged molecules….these tiny molecules cling unto one another like velcro unto velcro….and there was a LAYER of them.

it's still messy.  but the craziness of WIND creates a sense almost of paralysis.  tomorrow, i'll undo the messiness.  today, i  vacuumed Dust.

and early i rearranged the seed starting arrangement.  took out an entire shelf.  shifted the bricks.  i liked how the Starts that have remained Inside,  are looking Outside.  soon, it'll be time for them to go Out too.

and inbetween all this,  i looked at the little drawn faces that are in that basket on the Altar.

This one in particular.

You just reminded me to go water the tomatoes. 🙂 Glad that you seemed to have found some peace from wind and roof repairs.

yes. Peace. so quiet tonight. Stillness. after the post i went out and brushed them. They like it. they take turns. sometimes nicely, sometimes not…pushy. but it validated things. Caring, Love. and the stillness, after WIND is so bless~ed.

Relief for you settles in my heart too. There’s the one broken window to repair, right?–and that dust, which reminded me of all those infamous depression era dust storms I’ve seen in countless films and documentaries of that time. How fitting your place should be named for the weather. The seedlings leaning into the sunlight is a hopeful image, and the cloth face looks a bit stunned (understandably). Here it’s 40 degrees again and the wind was high when I was out around 10PM, trees bending and dancing. We expect more rain.

it ‘s so intimate to come in your place
i was sitting in your rocking share
    in deeply silent
    rock up and down
    breath in and out
and feel that life is good
like it is …. is ! no judgment about that
    just love to be there

60 and 70 mph is too much for Constant, and Constant day/night
    for days on end.

Sixty to seventy miles an hour for days on end? Golly! I feel so relieved for you, imagining the serenity of No Wind. I was born in the Mojave Desert where the wind blows hard and hot every afternoon, but I can remember the crystalline clarity of the windless mornings. That is what I am imagining for you. I also remember the dust. Polvadera is a pretty word it.

just makes me shiver thinking about it. i’m certain i had a past life during the dust bowl years–probably went stark raving mad from it all. glad you’ve held your ground. just cannot imagine.

howling howling howling wind here..cold and wet and gray..so amazing to think of your far away winds of heat and dust..well i am getting to watch birches bend from left to right…no boys swinging there….
it was so nice to see the green starts echoing the silk thread…soothing and beautiful both of them…
especially wishing you a quiet quiet day

I like how wind makes us all look so determined and noble even when it’s just about trying to get across the street!

Wind here is an experience, different from the tornado winds that I experienced in TN. Those winds like a freight train coming right at you, scared me. These winds intrigue, create a lot of dust, make me gritty eyed, heighten allergies, etc. Still there is something about hearing these gusts and even walking out into them, as long as I remind myself to keep my mouth closed that is so astonishingly alive, though I will admit to feeling a bit ditzy at their non stop activity. When I lived in Maui, we had afternoon trade winds that made me feel the same way but I’m older now, so ditzier !!!!
However, one thing about these winds is that they dry seedlings and so our oak leaf lettuce starters, our two types of zucchini are kaput, dried out because we thought we had figured out the weather patterns and could plant after the 15th of April, never considered factoring in the wind because we were told that March was the windy month – well, no and then of course, that chili head ground squirrel who ate our tomatoes last summer and was not deterred by a sprinkling of precious Hatch chili powder on the leaves and the surrounding ground came back and helped himself to the flattened lettuce. There is good news though because I am happy to report that our tomatoes are doing just fine since we planted them in large pots and have them against the house, wind did not bother them at all nor did the squirrel.
