This is the month. Nothing forcast less than 97, with some of those over 100 degree days. And how it is. I'd like to watch this more closely than i have. Watch how the Use of the Day differs now. How early Morning becomes so critical. I'd like to watch more closely how the Goats work it. This might become important to know. The Goats had company today. Alz B's daughter came. From Seattle. She set up in their rain shelter, just sitting in there, as it was the only real shade at that hour and they came and went from her. She was happy as a clam in that poopy straw place (dry poop) but it inspired me to continue looking for someone around who might really like being with them. So…soon, i'll put up another flyer at the grocery store. I KNOW there's someone. And Bill offered some good ideas about resurrecting the Salon.  They had enjoyed rubbing against it and it had collapsed.   So,  i'll try again soon.

and i began the morning going back to Joan at CopperCreekers blog to listen more to Rising Appalachia  Sunu and got all energized by that AGAIN,  and remembering how in my other lives i used to Decorate myself and got as far as

this.  Two little braids of the hair that is so ALMOST long enough to be captured in the barrette but not quite but also doesn't seem to want to…. so i braided them.   But then ran quickly out of interest.  It was nice in the moment tho.

and some more birds.   Maybe enough birds.

Finished The Soil Will Save Us and yes,  i do have HOPE.   It is an excellent book and the last half is a clear and great picture of how more and more dyed in the wool Agriculturists are looking at these practices with Interest.  All around the Planet.  Some for altruistic reasons,  but many others, because it WORKS.   So,  it looks to me like a Win Win and might at the very least Buy some time.

and maybe the best of reading it is that there is a whole  new and renewed sense of what i am doing Out There as being more than what meets the eye.  Photosynthesis.  Photosynthesis.  Even the "weeds".  I look at how GREEN the "dread" Kochia is.  Photosynthesis.  Healing disturbed earth.  That's what weeds are for.  Healing.  Many new and very good thoughts.

Love the birds, the braids (you look surprised), and your hopes for our earth. I join in with those.

back again to share this–Why I Wake Early by Mary Oliver:
    Hello, sun in my face.
Hello, you who make the morning
and spread it over the fields
and into the faces of the tulips
    and the nodding morning glories,
and into the windows of, even, the
    miserable and crotchety–
    best preacher that ever was,
    dear star, that just happens
to be where you are in the universe
    to keep us from ever-darkness,
to ease us with warm touching,
to hold us in the great hands of light–
good morning, good morning, good morning.
Watch, now, how I start the day
    in happiness, in kindness.
    So Goodnight Grace

My day begins with a bit of movement, unloosening, doing a daily blessing ritual but my ritual will change now that I have had a chance to listen to the music of Rising Appalachia’s Sunu. grace and Joan, especially, thank you for providing this wonderful music. It has enveloped me.
First, I watched the video but found that I couldn’t sit, had to stand and dance. I love to dance and do so at any given moment. Played the music a second time but this time, with eyes closed so I could let the music creep into my joints, muscles, sinews, heart, brain, soul, letting it enter deep inside of me and I danced around the room, hips keeping time to that most ancient of rhythms.
Sheer, unadulterated JOY!! I will wait for the sun to come up because I want to go outside in the back yard and dance again to welcome this day, in the fresh air, among our plant people, the few that are left from the the grasshoppers who along with the ground squirrels are our present companions ! I will probably startle the birds and lizards with my dancing …was going to bring my laptop and plug it in outside but what I think I will do is to just go out and dance because the music is now in my bloodstream and I can hear it from deep within.

i just watched/listened again. and again, the thought that
maybe this is a Photosynthetic Response of human beings, to
    make Sound, to make Dance.
the Video makes me remember a time when i was very interested
in performance art…and to me, this is perfect in many ways…
but what i love most is that although it Moves as a Whole, each
being is completely involved in their own particular expression
of the Whole. How there is flow, a symbiotic sense, but so
individually expressed. I could watch ALL DAY and really, ALL NIGHT
    too

Grace, you share so much with so many of us each time we visit. i’m happy that something i shared brought you memories and enjoyment.
i didn’t realize so many would be touched.
those birds in different pinpoints of color, the grasses, soil people with the soul grounded and expanding to the sky is so entwined. i keep coming back to look.

And those of us who make the “whole” when we come here will also have individual reactions to the music to how we let it enter into us, to how we move to it yet the underlay is the joy that we each experience and manifest through our own unique movements…reminds me of the chant, drumming, trance music of the late Gabrielle Roth who said, “sweat your prayers.”
