Work at the Old Cowboy's early day and then back to what appears to be Practice Storms for Monsoon which is usually in July.  Today,  lots of Electrical activity,  electricity out off and on,  computer turned Off.   And then,  no Internet for a while.  Goats rushing in and out of the small shelter in the Way Back.   Rain Drop…..scream and run!  Watch.  OK…back out,  then Rain Drop…scream and run!   They are Drama Queens.

the Rain made it  perfect to take pics of the Rocks

i had mentioned this a little while ago to Jude…Spirit Cloth…the sandstone with the imprint of the Moon.  I suppose i could ask around and find out what it IS,  but  really,  i don't want to.  I just want to look at it and WONDER…how stone can take Moon into it

this White one, on the Raft.   Marti and her husband Rich brought it to me from Texas where they lived.  Brought it to me as a gift,  the first time we met.  Face to face,  after all the years on the Internet.  It is limestone and appears daily different than when first here.  Wind works it,  changes it.  Now it is like a Bone.

That web is the most stupendous thing I have ever seen. Just wow. And the rocks, well, that you brought them all, well, that really has captured my imagination. Lots to think about. Thank you, as always, Grace.

Stupendous variety of stone, and from so many places, each a whole history, some a mystery that keep their secrets held–Oh, it’s GREAT to concentrate on an element like this. You might note it’s almost 4AM here in NYC and I slept till 3AM from midnight. Such seems to be my pattern…it will change when I retreat Thursday to Massachusetts. I know I’ll miss stopping by if I have no access…but I’ll catch up when I return. Laughed out loud at the goats being drama queens. (((~)))

What is it about rocks that beckon, to look, to touch, to hold, to carry? Rocks, cairns, rock walls ringed with moss in Ireland, lava rock walls in Maui, limestone garden borders in Texas, anchored guardians of the earth. Up in Water Canyon, one of grace’s special places, the rocks are like no other in color, layers and layers of color, a painters palette: sand, clay, gray, blue, green, turquoise bits, dark gray that is almost black, the softest tan almost white…what stories they hold. If you hold a rock, can you see/hear/feel the echoes of long ago?

What a beautiful post, a story of earth formed into stone over time.. most lovely pieces of stone…the horse rock is amazing. bringing rocks along….a story for me, too…rocks my children gathered on walks or at the beaches from 30 to 40 years ago sit with plants in pots on my deck – they all remind me of places and times – treasures, Thanks you for bringing such a glorious visual treat to me this day.

i am looking even more slowly at them. Seeing how they
make this world i try to understand….how they try to help me understand.
This is very good, that you see them. Everyone. Every day. Me too.

Oh these rocks Grace! As I scrolled down, I thought, if I ever come your way…perhaps to visit my daughter and grandson…I shall bring you a rock from Southern California. Then I got to “Marti’s Rock” and see we have a shared idea. This may well become a friendship rock garden in your middle of nowhere. Perhaps it will be a rock of mine, found in a nearby desert…or the one found deep in my yard…or…
It brings a smile to dream of this taking place.

What wonderful rocks! I’m amazed at how they are loved by all. On a camping trip in the Andes, when it was time to hike out, everyone laid out their rocks trying to decide which ones they wanted to backpack out! I sent many of them home to my Mom in Tennessee. Still wonder what the Customs officials thought when those packages were labeled “rocks”.

at least they didn’t impound them! and yes. i am still
very much looking more at how they have changed things here,
how they create the “rooms” of that OutSide part of this
home…how they accentuate and define space. They are
really someThing. I would like to spend more time up
toward the mountains this year just looking. I think i
don’t need to bring more home, but just to see them in
    their Places…photograph them…
Also, the people i get my eggs from…homeschool Christian
family….the father has built an incredible little
ampitheater from rocks….some HUGE…i should take some
pics of that…he always says it’s how he praises the Lord. and to that i would be able to say…Here Here!
