This truck sort of belongs to me.  Sort of.   It's title is in my name,  i pay the insurance.  But it still lives at the Old Cowboy's house.  As long as he is there.  But today i drove it to pick up the stove.

Here we are.    The first stove i have ever bought.    In all my 68 years.  First stove.   There is

Simmer.

Simmer,  on all four burners.  Simmer.  The first time for Simmer in maybe 20 or more years?  How so Great is this?    ALL four burners work.   How so Great is That?   a Luxury,  beyond Luxury.   In an email Marti points out that i name my vehicles and she thinks i should name the stove…she thinks i should name this sleek stove…..Sabine.   And so it is.  Sabine.  ok.  and yes, ok.

i watch the water tonight.   How it flows from the hose.  Watch it.  Closely.

Congrats on the stove. How did you create the wall behind the stove? Is that decoupage?

Welcome to ‘Sabine’, a new helper for your enterprises in the service of love and survival! It IS just wonderful. I think I felt that way- about having a great luxury when I bought my first ever mattress in that one year I had some money a decade or so ago. I still feel it.

It’s a wonderful stove. We lived with landlord stoves forever. Like you say, 4 burners didn’t happen often, and they never came clean. Congratulations! A stove of your own is wonderful.
I’m still in love with your beautiful hollyhock munching beatles, but forgot to say so.

and the truck–now that’s a TRUCK–have you named it? and the plant you’re watering–kinda looks like a pepper plant? what would that be–and let’s see, one other thing, how did you get the stove inside?

it’s wonderful. . .appreciating something that works well. . .and knowing. . .that yes, Sabine can simmer. . .and she can presumably do all the increments between that and full boil. . sssssssss…love

Oh, congratulations!! I have a new stove, too, first one I’ve ever bought. All the burners work, too, for the first time in 11 years. I have a dedicated simmer burner and a turbo boil – which is rather intense! But, what joy to have options when cooking. Happy simmering with Sabine, she is compact and very attractive!

it is. it extends all along that kitchen counter top
wall. I did it during a weekend of total frustration
once during the Maniac Days. It’s pretty much from
National Geographics but also old Anthropology Catalogs
    back when they were beautiful
it’s maybe 13 14 years ago i did it and it is still
    good as new

its an apartment size, so it could fit old Dixie’s spot
without ripping out a wall or something rash….
and the thing i love best about it is that it is
how i wish all household things would be…( i think
it might have been designed by a woman who does her
own cleaning) it is devoid of clever useless Trim that
makes it hard to clean. it is SLEEK and PLAIN. This i
    love.

this is what i really appreciate Credit Cards for. it
might take me forever to pay it off, but all that
forever time, i will be Happy and able to cook normally
instead a half a pan at a time. Also, old Dixie was
    really, kind of dangerous.

oh the truck. for years i told him that i didn’t think
i wanted it. That’s his favorite thing, to tell you
over and over what he is going to give you when he’s
dead. ( he also is going to give me his dining room table and chairs, which i DO NOT want but don’t say that because it would hurt his feelings too much) But he hasn’t been able to drive it for many years
and in the last several, can’t even get up into it to ride.
and then Jenny and i used it to bring the Goats to and
back from California..hauling the horse trailer…
so for most everything, it’s just TOO MUCH. It uses
an ocean of gas. But for some things, it’s needed. So it will still stay in the Old Cowboy’s driveway until he
gives up his house and moves in with the relatives. Then i will bring it here. Well, not really…it will live
at Bill and Nelia’s house. Bill will use it when he needs a truck like it in exchange for doing maintenance. Will
be shared. and no…no name yet.
the most amazing thing is that it’s a ’94 and still, including the California treks has less than 40,000 miles
on it. also needed new tires (weather rot) a couple years ago and when i got to the Costco in Albuquerque after
a harrowing drive there on cracked tires, they only had
3 that matched for it except for a set of heavy duty Off Road ones…so…that’s what we have…compliments of the
    Old Cowboy.
It’s a BIG thing. i feel like a little toy driving it.

yes…the stainless steel oven door. What i really
loved was that Black was an option. I love Black.
is so less intrusive than white…
and smile, the wine, well….it does the trick. I
always remember when my son came once and i gave him
a glass and he tasted, he’s a Chef, said
    “What’s this?” Wine, i said.
he “No it’s not, its Vinegar”.
but as i said, it does the trick….gives that little
blurrrrrrr at the end of a day
