work away day but before i left, this scrap of seam presented and i looked forward to getting back home and taking it apart.
some response between the cloth, walnut, iron pot and oxidation. i like it.
early this morning. i like the shapes.

An orb, an eye…a butterfly…
That cloth is amazing!

for me, this revelation about scrap embodies the wonder of cloth–that you could/would look forward–all day–to seam scrap. to opening it up. and finding delight in what it holds. and the eye cloth. besides magic, what helped created the blue center?

Love the cloth from the walnut dye pot, and the early morning shapes, and this blog!

the way you look at the tiniest pieces of cloth is so very inspiring Grace! In one week I will be packing for the 20 + hours of flying across the wide blue then across the US for my mom’s 85th birthday gathering. Stitching would be a fine way to while away the hours in transit and am just working out whether sewing needles are allowed in the cabin of the plane, seems they could be but also may not be depending on the nature of the officious person checking the carry-on luggage & gotta love the net, just found out that dental floss has the perfect little thread cutter in it rather than trying to take scissors on board.

i LOVE
LOVE looking forward to a seam scrap…opening it is just such surprise…how it’s different on the Inside than from the worn Outside…..
It’s just how light reflects off the oxidated cloth, it’s
almost metalic in nature and is reflective

Mo…i know what it feels like to be readying to GO to
a birthday with a mother. i know it very well. But i
drove. taking 2 dogs, but drove. You will FLY and that
will be something in itself, the oddness of that. Here one moment, there the next.
Someone wrote recently about how to fly with needles…
maybe it was India? But they figured it out, and it was Ok.
i am just so intently focused on this trip of yours…both
external and internal…a TRIP, for sure
