Halfway across the continent I’ve been concerned about the spade foot toads. Waiting for you to say something… Toads I’ve never seen but am in great wonder of. Isn’t it a little late in the season? I hope there is enough water. There are So many American toads here this year. Still small but getting easier to see and avoid stepping on.

just watching it, even tho i couldn’t see anything, funny,
back and forth to the windows….
i don’t have a phone that texts and don’t know how anyway.
and really, it’s one of those moments when you just
don’t want to be the only one to think of What To Do
if things need to be done.
Was a BIG RAIN…a deja vu to the year the ditch bank
    broke and everything flooded.
    Sorry to have awakened you….smile….

They will be OK. for sure. Standing water everywhere and
another rain forcasted for tonight that they think will
be even MORE than last night.
So..last night they began…in concert with the Garden
    Toads…harmony….tonight will be THE night…
Some rain again tomorrow and monday, so it’s guaranteed!!!

Maria…i actually love the storms. it’s the Goats i cannot
stop feeling for. They have such an aversion to rain…all
huddling in their small shelter there and when there is so much
steady downpour, all their world is wet. Today i will go get
some bales of straw for them and the bucks too. a deep layer
will help. and i’d put off making that corridor because of the
new stove…kinda selfish….so am back to that in the next
    few days…
i don’t know what your woodpecker sounds like….

We had little rain last night and looks like more may come. We are so filled with drought that we went out to stand in it, appreciate it…smell and feel it. So different sometimes for each of us. I hope your days ahead are workable and comfortable for all of you.
We have woodpeckers too…they do not sound like the cartoon from childhood 🙂
