we'll see in the morning. went out, just to look. But i thought, Why Not just TRY? So, ok and two hours later it was done ish. I inched the 16ft cattle panels up the driveway, through the gate, over and across and then, the hardest part, maybe, pulled them behind the wire livestock fencing. All the fencing needs to be on the Inside of the metal T posts, inside being the side the animal is on. Expecially Goats. Goats LOVE to rub on fences, back and forth, scratching. If the fencing is on the outside of the T posts, eventually whatever wire you have used to tie on pulls loose and well, Things can Happen.
Coming through the gate with the first panel, there was a sudden Alert activity and low and behold, the Paper Wasps had built a cell nest INSIDE the BELL. All of a sudden many wasps were whirling around. Having gotten stung just this last Sunday when pulling bindweed in the Way Back Oasis, and having my right leg still swollen and itching from the knee (where i was stung) down now to the toes….i sprayed them. I feel really bad. But there are still six existing nests that i know of and probably more. When they are up in the eaves of the house, it's ok…we can co-exist. When they are in trees or bushes and i find out they are there (like by getting stung), we can co-exist. But these were just above the place i walk through a million times a day. And really, i suppose we could co-exist here too; they only attack when their nest is bumped. But…it's too ify and i am already swollen. I did it. I don't know what to think.
how the corridor looks from the front porch.
closer…the Diamond Child Buddha garden and both post pounders…the "pink" one, which once was red and the Big Time one…Patricia….
a brand new view, from inside the Middle Doe Goat pen. I disconnected the fence there and folded it back. Now there's a clear Run, Way back to middle once i get everything wired. For me, it's very Exciting. It will change things dramatically. Make a lot of things Possible, i'm hoping. Make Everything EASY, for all of us, i'm hoping. How New Dog Tay will do with Goats running back and forth is yet to be seen. But i'm counting on her.
taken from the far side of the Middle Doe Pen, at the corner of the Albatros. The passage way, the corridor is way behind the picnic table by the young Cottonwood.
the old Guinea Hen Palace needs some work. Haven't looked inside it for a while.* The Tatuma squash vine went inside and there is a really beautiful squash dangling, but also a lot of stuff that's come loose and needs reinforcing. *I looked to be sure that there were no wasp nests in there.
Here's the map again with a couple of added things.
About the Title…could be Foolish. Moving the cattle panel was a similar thing to hauling several pallets in the wind maybe a couple years ago….which caused me to spend close to a year working to get rid of a Sciatic Nerve problem. I swore i would never set myself up for that again….but….. We'll see in the morning.
