we'll see in the morning.     went out,  just to look.   But i thought,  Why Not just TRY?     So, ok and  two hours later it was done  ish.   I inched the 16ft cattle panels up the driveway,  through the gate,  over and across and then,  the hardest part, maybe,  pulled them behind the wire livestock fencing.  All the fencing needs to be on the Inside of the metal T posts,  inside being the side the animal is on.   Expecially Goats.  Goats LOVE to rub on fences,  back and forth,  scratching.   If the fencing is on the outside of the T posts,  eventually  whatever wire you have used to tie  on pulls loose and well,  Things can Happen.

Coming through the gate with the first panel,  there was a sudden Alert activity and low and behold,  the Paper Wasps had built a cell nest INSIDE the BELL.   All of a sudden many wasps were whirling around.   Having gotten stung just this last Sunday when pulling bindweed in the Way Back Oasis,  and having my right leg still swollen and itching from the knee (where i was stung) down now to the toes….i  sprayed them.   I feel really bad.   But there are still six existing nests that i know of and probably more.   When they are up in the eaves of the house,  it's ok…we can co-exist.  When they are in trees or bushes and i find out they are there (like by getting stung),  we can co-exist.  But these were just above the place i walk through a million times a day.  And really,  i suppose we could co-exist here too;   they only attack when their nest is bumped.  But…it's too ify and i am already swollen.   I did it.    I don't know what to think.

a brand new view,  from inside the Middle Doe Goat pen.    I disconnected the fence there and folded it back.  Now there's a clear Run,  Way back to middle once i get everything wired.   For me, it's very Exciting.  It will change things dramatically.  Make a lot of things Possible,  i'm hoping.  Make Everything EASY,   for all of us,  i'm hoping.   How New Dog Tay will do with Goats running back and forth is yet to be seen.  But i'm counting on her.

taken from the far side of the Middle Doe Pen,  at the corner of the Albatros.   The passage way, the corridor is way behind the picnic table by the young Cottonwood.

the old Guinea Hen Palace needs some work.  Haven't looked inside it for a while.*  The Tatuma squash vine went inside and there is a really beautiful squash dangling,  but also a lot of stuff that's come loose and needs reinforcing.   *I looked to be sure that there were no wasp nests in there.

Here's the map again with a couple of added things.

About the Title…could be Foolish.   Moving the cattle panel was a similar thing to hauling several pallets in the wind maybe a couple years ago….which caused me to spend close to a year working to get rid of a Sciatic Nerve problem.  I swore i would never set myself up for that again….but….. We'll see in the morning.

It takes a lot of energy and muscle power to wrangle a ranch. I admire your initiative and hope you won’t have any ill effects. Goats are such curious creatures… they will really enjoy the freedom you are offering them.

OKAY…oh amazing, sturdy, determined pioneer–the homeopathic remedy you may want to have on hand always (for yourself, goats, dogs, and friends or family who may visit) is Rhus Toxiderian (http://a2zhomeopathy.com/Contact/index.html) because it will lesson stings and may even help your sciatica if it sets in. I felt a sort of similar horror when I killed a silver fish recently….but wasps are dangerous…really dangerous, and you seem to have quite a few nests. Hope all is well in the morning. It looks great!

there are some things–ticks being among them–that sadly don’t interface well. always a conundrum.
and you. how are you this morning. the new arrangement really pulls things together–adds definition and an overlay of functionality. good job.

i found a really good site yesterday but can’t find it
this morning…talking about how the wasps eat caterpillars and then feed their squashed upness to the larva…
    these are Paper wasps.
and it’s true, i can work very close to them like really close and they don’t mind. But touch their nest and
    it’s a whole different thing.

in the last couple years i have had to exercise restraint
in what i do. have to realize that there is cause and
effect to pushing things. but yesterday, i just really
really wanted to GET DONE. I think it’s going to be
    really good……will find out…SOON.

FUNCTIONALITY….YES. Am so totally into whatever defines
that. and EASE. i want EASE as much as i can create it.
There are always things that challenge, but there ARE
    things that make it easier.
isn’t it funny…how good it feels when someone says
    good job.
    i smile and sit straighter….

Sometimes the line between impulsive/foolish or brave/stupid is very fine and dependent upon the outcome. (I am relearning this at this very moment.) And I totally understand the insect conflict. There the line is at the point of danger to oneself or others. How inviting that corridor looks…

This is to Beth, i forgot to click reply …”inviting”…..when i read that word, i realized that this is
exactly what i keep thinking, when i look through….
just now as i am out tying both fencings together with baling wire.
and reading the word inviting i had a flash of my grandfather’s cottage on Lake Erie, how the bushes there created corridors,
a secret world. How i would sleep outside in his WW2 jungle hammock, or who knows, maybe WW1…anyway, it was a cacoon. zipped up with
netting sides. it smelled like musty canvas.
and then of the creek behind my childhood home in Michigan.
so once again, that word Diorama. of the child and the old woman, the same….creating spaces. And this, really is the final best i
can do here for the Goats. Well….i can do a little more for the Bucks maybe, but they really lead very focused lives on their
Personals. Even if they got loose, they would go directly to
the does and begin wooing them. It’s all they want. So i don’t
    feel so compelled for them.
i will always feel bad about spraying those wasps. They are very
sincere creatures. But also, if i am all swollen up i’m not any
    use to this place.

do you think the wasps feels guilty for having stung you because you accidentally touched their nest?? I mean it’s not like you attacked them, but they attack you! their instinct is to aggressively protect themselves and in such a case I feel you’re entitled to do the same…..
personally I dislike wasps after they once attacked our youngest when he was out playing and accidentally bumped into a tree stump with a wasps’ nest, after having been stung by several wasps he looked like he’d been punched in the face with all the swelling….it still hurts just thinking of it
as for stamina and (foolish) determination: wow, you have those in abundance; yes it is sometimes wiser to let others get going, but having to sit and wait for that to happen can be bad for one’s mental health as well (ugh and sigh and smile) I’m glad this time you didn’t overreach and the job done is truly a job well done!

don’t forget that. But considering all the years i have

i am SO GLAD i did it myself. Half the day today would
have been spent being “nice”. I am SO GLAD!
