Fence is finished.  all wired securely.   All questionable weeds that were in the Middle Pen have been hand pulled.  Some weeds that are common here are toxic to livestock.

Guinea Hen Palace shored up.

Tay helped with EveryThing.

I went into the corridor to clip some of the low branches of the Salt Cedar…so the Goats could have a clear view of what was being presented to them,  and….guess what?   There in the low branches…yup.  Another Paper Wasp nest.   This is going to be a truly challenging summer.  I am seeing more insect beings than Ever,  many i don't know at all.   And August is the month.  eeee.

a couple weeks ago,  down the road a few miles in the next populated area of Lemitar,  where Alz B's son lives,  the Electric Co-Op was trimming trees for the lines and cut one which released  many many bees from a hive that swarmed down and stung to death a mare horse and her foul.  These were what they are calling Africanized Bees.   so nothing at all like my wasps here,  but also seeing that,  it gives  one pause.   Insects are Fierce.   They claim the same rights as everything.  And

Rightfully so.

Hmmmm.   Do I want the Goats stung?   and,   would the Goats be stung?, or would they sense the presence of the wasps and dodge them?  I don't know.

in Weave Diaries today,  Jude posted a very Beauty Full and Loving Post on weaving with the bead loom.   and I really couldn't remember if it was still there,  back from Cloth to Cloth days,  but yup.  Here it is.  Bead Loom.   I consider it.

IMG_0033f

Off and on the Cloth wove itSelf through all the rest of the doing.   And i realized that i didn't at all want what had originally seemed to be presenting.   I DON'T want any more, not one more, Cloth that is specifically specific.   But rather ones that are of Common Ground.

so…in this moment,  this is what we have.   I don't know.  Really.  Don't know.

so….just after all the above,  being how i am,  wanting to FINISH,  i went back out.    The single last wasp had gone.  Where did he go?   What is he doing?  He would be a male,  a worker.   Now, no work.

Clipped.  low branches.  A clear shot.  Way Back to Middle.

IMG_0043f

Ready.

IMG_0038f

i looked up.  How do any of these things have anything at all to do with Anything?

do you think it is because of the lack of rain that we are seeing more insects ? i seem to remember that about bees and wasps . but i could be wrong . i am just using cloth as my loom. trying to keep it simple not always easy when my mind goes in a lot of different directions . i love that dog …i want to hug her (:

Dear Grace of busy busy going on…remember–you can find most insects and their descriptions, with notes on benign or aggressive–here> (http://www.insectidentification.org/insects-by-state.asp?thisState=New%20Mexico)–of course the insects have rights, but you have yours too, and lots of other creatures to be responsible for. That was a sad tale of the mare and her foal. let us hope no African wasps come your way. Clearing and cutting is wise. Soon you’ll have some more time for cloth…and I’m so glad you are not all sciatica and bruise. Big love.

beautiful Tay. i think of ‘blue moon’ out of a dark cloud when i see this cloth.
i would be afraid the goats might bump the nest accidently.
♥ love that beautiful blue sky and fluffy clouds.

I can imagine the goats giddy with excitement at the freedom of going back and forth. I can imagine it being done many many times back and forth. I wish you could take a movie.
I heard a news story about how Lyme disease is not spreading west and in looking for the why of that scientists are concluding that in the west ticks feed on lizards and something in the lizard’s blood is neutralizing the Lyme toxin. How amazing is that…

    i wish i could do a movie too…but alas…
this is really something, about the ticks…i really can’t
imagine them on lizards…that is so strange. Do you
remember where you read that? It’s contrary to all i thought
i know about ticks…how they like a furred host best..
animals, but people, they will go to the cracks and
crevices on a human body..where it’s warm and dark. A
lizard? welll…i just can’t imagine that.

I know. I was stunned too. How can a tick attach to a lizard? Can’t remember where I first heard it but if you google “lyme lizard” you’ll find some stories. And here: http://ucce.ucdavis.edu/files/repositoryfiles/ca5202p4-67730.pdf
Western fence lizard… Do you know what those are? Or in CA only?

Oh that sky! And good dog Tay who helps with everything…this is so good to read…and stinging things don’t work for me as I have huge topical reactions that last for at least a week or more and then bruise or scar. It is a form of self-care for me. My guy can get stung by a wasp or two or a bee while riding the Harley…has one tiny red dot…oh how I wish!
I read with interest and admiration all you git done!

well…stinging things. Most of the time, we are able
to move among one another. I prefer that. I know where
they are and i just honor their presence, their Place here. I like that. I want that. But then, sometimes, their Place here is directly in my Place here. And then what.
so…i am trying to understand this. I guess i wouldn’t
plant some garden where they have chosen to live for the summer. I would honor them and choose a different place.
So….well, i haven’t come to terms with it all yet…
