finished the kantha and as i did,  there was this odd sense of familiarity and suddenly, i knew…how amazing,  that i didn't  click before….i know this Being,  just in a different Form

She who Watches Over the Goats.   She's on the big living room window,  the West window, the window of the Rim.   You see her here surrounded by the oh so Fine and Beauty FULL veil that Yvette sent me….and this Breather…she is just a different form of this Goat Watcher…more well, Primitive,  by that meaning further from  "civilization"  that humanity knows today…so more primitive…as in Before.  ,  this  Breather.

and then suddenly again,  i looked at the old one,  the Grandmother that i have had for years and years

Abalone.  you can see the two dremel holes i drilled so i could Wear her back in the day when i was younger and decorated myself,  i guess to make a statement of some kind.  She was my statement.

So i see today that what comes now is not new.  But rather on going from so many years back and that Lifts me.  I float with this understanding.

Today was a great and fine day.  The morning. stitching.  then noon on,  OutSide,  clearing debris and working side by side in an odd way with Tay.  She occupied herself wholeHeartedly.  When i would pick up sticks and drop the in the kindling basket,  she would take them out and redistribute.  When i pulled unwanted weeds,  she would too…with her teeth and fling them with a snap of her head.  We worked.  Side by Side.   Big feelings about that.  She is a Fine Fine Being, this dog Tay.

and tomorrow morning i will go with Mike and Thelma who used to own Southwest Native Plants here.  but gave it up because they are not really business types,  …  we are going to Thelma's parents home that is along the Rio Grande and looking at the Yerba Mansa that grows of its own accord there.  Depending on the point in its cycle,  i may bring some plants home to put in on the north side of the house where the outside faucet drips when i water.  I had tried once before but put the plants in places too dry.   So.  It was just the Best day.  The Best a day could be.

I float along with you: Over the years that I have known you, SHE has always been present – in those early years, in the form of your dolls: I go to my special drawer and pull out photocopies of some of them: the old woman bedecked in the soft purple cloth, holding the basket; she who you said was blind from greeting the sun each day; she in the rayon cloth, filled with many colors whose words you said were, “I would dress in the colors of the mountain and sunrise…in patterns of beetle and butterfly wing wearing vines and jewels of wind blown seed to offer this gift of gratitude; the seated wandering spirit doll; rose woman, wind woman.
These dolls, solid, strong but as incredible as they were/are, there is something that goes deeper with your cloth women but then, I should say cloth woman: She is your archetype, the Goat Watcher, the Breather. SHE is who she needs to be for you, a presence who has always been with you but now, her form has become something universal, more connective if that is possible because of the spirit that is in these bits of cloth that come alive from how you SEE now. Maybe it’s because I cannot dimensionally hold her as with the dolls that makes her more spirit filled – I don’t know. What I do know is that I find parts of myself when SHE appears on your cloths.
Clarissa Pinkola Estes toward the end of Women Who Run With Wolves speaks of the word reclamation. She does not define it in modern terms but speaks of an older meaning: “The word reclamation is derived from the French “reclaimer” meaning to “call back the hawk which has been let to fly.” Yes, to cause something of the wild to return when it is called. It is therefore, by its meaning, an excellent word for us to use. We are using the voices of our minds, our lives, and our souls to call back intuition, imagination, to call back the Wild Woman and she comes.”
grace, your Breather, your Goat Watcher does this. Estes adds,” women cannot get away from this. If there is to be change, we are it. (AND this next sentence is the important note for me and how I feel to see Breather, Goat Watcher.)
Estes says, WE CARRY LA QUE SABE, THE ONE WHO KNOWS.”
“If there is to be inner change, individual woman must do it. If there is to be world change, we women have our own way of helping to achieve it. Wild Woman whispers the words (AND here I will say, Goat Watcher, your Breather grace) whispers the words, the ways to us and we follow. She has been running and stopping and waiting to see if we are catching up. She has something, many things to show us…”
As do you, as do your cloths…

I love reading about your really good days. They smooth over and put into perspective my “not-so-hot” and my own fault, wasted ones.

She is so so great about that…she just sees me pulling something and she sets TO IT…..what i am pulling are a kind of grass that has very sticky and prickly seed heads. NOT GOOD for any kind of animal.
and she just is so zealous. It’s really FUNNY to watch, the placing of the teeth at the ground and ripping and then Flinging them wildly.
    What to Think of her???????????
