I had put off posting last eve only to be surprised by a Sudden Electrical Storm.  So…went to bed.

It rained all night, is still raining this morning.  According to the forcast,  will rain all week,  with the most intense storms on Thursday.   I cross my fingers that the ditch banks hold.   The arroyos will Run strong and the week after,  will be interesting to see what they bring down with them.  Often some interesting stuff.  Bones, old car/truck parts/old tree roots.   I'll go back and visit the RIVER again.

Tay is undaunted and pursuing her new area of interest,  archaeology,   digging in the rain.  Her coat is interesting,  water just rolls off.

these three things i have not seen in many years.  The childs tea set tea cup was last used to mark a buriel of a dog,  Tootsie,  who died i guess almost 20 years ago.

I can't believe and am so grateful that she found this shell.  It's very unusualy marked.  Off and on i had been sad that it went missing.

So if i don't show up here in the next days, it's because of storm activity.

DARK

Yup we are hunkering down as well; running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to collect as many ripe tomatoes and even unripe ones to bring indoors before the deluge…Good that you let everyone know.

i can’t make up my mind about tomatoes…really would like to leave them
    on the plant….
this is going to be one challenging week for the Goats, dear them. Was
just out to dump water from their feed bowls. They usually are yelling
for breakfast at 7:00, it’s almost 11 now and not a peep…they are
in the Albatross, chewing dwindling cud no doubt. If it would just stop
for a FEW minutes, say 10 or better, 15…they could eat.

That hurricane that’s bringing you rain is so huge I can feel it here two states away. It was hot last night and I kept waking up feeling that massive energy hundreds of miles away. With luck it will bring us rain in Los Angeles in a couple of days. I hope it helps your ongoing drought. The whole southwest has been too dry for too many years.

be July. But then, it was August. and now, it’s September. and
YES. we DO need the water…or, Earth needs the water. Yes and
i accept that. But…it’s just going on and on. Today there was
maybe 2 hours with no Rain.

Well, Scotland….it’s been on my mind because of the Referendum on Independence Thursday and all the talk of why yes and why no. I have a friend who married a Laird, but she’s traveling in Arizona and California now….I’ve always wanted to see the Highlands…but here I am in NYC on a cool, clear Fall night past midnight thinking about Tay as an archeologist, and the goats hiding out and You Grace facing a storm. Hope you all stay safe, and that I get this to you before the electricity blows….but really it’s good for any morning so you can watch what the animals think of the serenade:

Tracy I’m in SO CA too. Day 6 of over 100. Big puffy humid clouds rim the Valley. We hope for some rain. Air conditioners couldn’t keep up today, so very hot at work in the classroom…79 degrees with sticky crying little ones. Long day.

Grace, I love the treasures Tay is bringing you. So much rain, I can’t even imagine that right now. Dry and dusty here, invites asthma. Be safe.
