yes.  Martha says they ARE scarlet runner.  She says take as many as you would like.  They were prolific.   i am still looking at these few.   In this more clear pic,  they are what they really are.  Just so well,,,,,Fine.    And in the spirit of the rest of this post,  i think how the mother plants climbing Martha's fence just went.   They just Grew and made beans.  Not thinking to keep some to themselves and giving some.  They just grew.   A LOT of thought about how Plants just go.

and then, there is This.

IMG_1023f

Maria, or,  2  asked if she could send a cloth she had dyed with plants from her garden.

that was the initial question and i of course said , yes.   And yesterday this BOX came from Belgium or the Netherlands and i say this because i am an ignorant American with so little knowledge of the rest of the world.    This box

IMG_1023f

i opened it.   What spilled out was beyond anything i could have imagined.  It has taken almost two days to really SEE what was within.

IMG_1012f

at first she was not wanting it to be pictured here,  saying it was a personal gift,  but then she said

"ok.   when you put it on the blog

just for share it.

just for say thanks to All of Them

from who the idea was coming even the pictures was given

to the world

love them All    in the same spirit."

This is Maria,  or 2 as her comments identify her.

I emailed her again this afternoon, to see if it was ok to put more,  but alas,  she was sleeping,  being there so far away across a great ocean,  across a great time

so here,  just this one more because i can't help myself

IMG_1014f

LOOK.    LOOK  at ALL OF THIS.   Maria, 2,  and her friend Margriet,  who is 89 years and i mention this because it has meaning to me…being almost 69 years,  …..They bundled and steamed and let sit in the Sun…"have put plants on the rag.   No rag anymore, …..cloth"

and Maria sent.   I look.  This is enough cloth for me for a lifetime that i have left.  Enough.  WAY Enough.   and LOOK,  i say to self.  What would I have sent?   Maybe a piece or two.  Maybe three.

But LOOK.   I really can't believe my eyes.

Oh these cloths are simply breathtakingly beautiful, earthy and wondrous. Maria, as someone who loves to dye cloths, I cannot begin to tell you what it means to me to see your work and Margriet’s. It is as if you have sent grace a piece of your land, your garden, your heart. I am happy, grateful and feel blessed to see all of these amazing spirit filled cloths, they are an everlasting treasure.
Maria, thank you for saying yes to grace, for letting her share what you and your friend have created with your own hands, from your land. What a deep joy to see these cloths because they sing to me, they move me, they rest in my heart. Their beauty and their power connect us all, and we are all the better for your openness and willingness to share them with all of us who come to windthread.

Maria and grace, I find that I cannot stay away:
A while back Maria you quoted a poem that spoke of “cracks in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” It is a quote that I have loved for years and I think of it in relation to these cloths:
Ordinary things such as leaves, weeds, bark, seed pods, flower petals, berries, rusty bits, how many people would look at these things and see more than what they are? But those of us who work with cloth, have eyes that see deeper and we use our eyes and our hearts to see so much more and your cloths are such a perfect example of letting the light get in. Maria, would you be willing to let us know some of what you and Margriet used to make the markings and color on these cloths?

the cursor is blinking, waiting for me to type in something…
and what?, what can i say to this?
i can say that i am deeply swimming in just Joy at how beauty FULL and easy it is to share Love. How they looked, Maria and her friend, and wondered and experimented and ………
and had more than they needed and sent. And that what they sent
was things that i could Never create here…i don’t have FLOWERS,
i am pretty sure these were from FLOWERS.
and then i think about that, FLOWERS, how so Giving Flowers are
in now so many ways i learn.
and We All look here, like butterflies and bees look, we touch in to the Beauty of Flowers, like butterflies and bees
and i am just thinking oh, THANK US ALL….All….

it’s something to SEE and FEEL and live next to. What i feel
most is a JOY emanating from Them…the Joy it must have been in
the Making that resulted in more than they needed for themselves

well…and it IS generosity, but also it’s something different, I
think, and we need to wait till Maria says more, but it is a
GESTURE of kindred spirit, a GESTURE of women who
    make things
who take such Delight in the Making
and having more, because of that, more than they needed, so
    they just sent it along.
    i am still LOOKING, FEELING
